First, what is a forehead lift? Simply put, it is a procedure to lift the forehead. What are the effects of forehead lift surgery? When the forehead is lifted, the brows are also lifted, which helps reduce forehead wrinkles and the wrinkles at the bridge of the nose. Also, for people who have a short distance between the brows and the eyes, the eyebrows go up, so it can help address that.

There are two methods for forehead lifts, and I will explain them. In incision methods, when there is no endoscopy, there is a method called a coronal incision. Nowadays, we do not use it anymore, so there is no need to go into detail. With endoscopy, you can think of it as performing the forehead lift with an endoscope. The incision line goes through the hairline, and there are five incisions. Actually, some clinics make three incisions and some make five incisions. In principle, making five incisions is the more accurate stripping method.

There are three methods for fixation, but I am not going to explain the method using a screw. First, using a thread for correction means making a tunnel in the bone, tying the thread, and fixing the forehead scalp there. Second, using an Endotine to fix it. Let me show you an Endotine. This is an Endotine, and there are various types. For fixing it on the forehead, this is the type used. When you fix this on your head, the protruding parts support the skin. Endotine is made from a plant-based material, so it can dissolve. It takes about one year to dissolve, and one more thing: Endotine is FDA-approved, so you can see it as very safe to use.

I will tell you about the duration of the forehead lift. I cannot say it lasts forever. From my experience, there has been no major difference for about 10 years. But the important thing here is that some people say it goes back to the same state. Not in less than a year, not in less than... The important thing for the forehead lift is the stripping. If the stripping is performed well, the duration can last not only 10 years but much longer.

For the recovery process after a forehead lift, about a week later, most of the swelling in the forehead will have subsided. The swelling moves down to the face, and there is variation depending on the person. For those who experience significant swelling, recovery may take over two weeks, but typically most people recover within two weeks.

The important thing in forehead lifts is how well the stripping is done. If the stripping goes well, no matter what is used, such as Endotine or threads, the surgery will turn out well. So you should remember that the most important thing is how well the stripping process is, and that is something you should consider.

Then how can you tell if the stripping was successful? The only way to find that out is through the duration. So if a patient's result goes back to the preoperative state after three months, that means the skin stripping was not performed enough. I recommend checking the clinics' websites and seeing whether they have videos that are five or seven years old. By checking those, I think that would be the most accurate information.

So I have explained a bit about forehead lifts. It is a surgery performed with an endoscope. There are threads and Endotines, and for your information, there are a few different types of Endotine.
