at a hair transplant hospital. But there are people who undergo hair transplant in an ordinary plastic surgery hospital where they perform hair transplant once a month or once in several months. They promise you that a specialist will come and perform the surgery. There are a lot of people who visit our hospital

after undergoing surgery from these places. It is embarrassing to say this as a doctor but a lot of the times the substitute isn’t a doctor which is a problem we have to root out. The doctor who gave the orders is the problem as well as the team who performed the surgery. I can’t tell you the name but there is a team who performed illegal procedures

If I tell you the name you will probably know but if the team is watching this right now I hope you stop doing these illegal procedures. I heard they get 300,000won for dissecting and 700,000won for implanting. This actually happens to a large extent.

This is something we as doctors should be embarrassed about and as the society gets more transparent about this situation I think these problems should be eradicated. This is what we call ghost surgery. The doctor will be beside the substitute drinking coffee or pretending to be there by coughing.

I must say that it is pitiful. And some hospitals let the nurse perform the implant. I think this is something we should be cautious about. What I am saying is that the nurse cannot be more skilled than the doctor. Hair transplant is not a surgery anyone can perform. Then why did I spend over a decade studying and researching

with the doctors around the world to develop this field. The problem is not about if you can do it or not technically It's about whether you have the qualifications to do so. For instance, can you drive a car? you might be able to but having and not having a license is another problem. You can’t just drive a class 1 truck if you have a class 2 AT drivers license.

You can’t drive a truck if you only have a motorcycle license. Therefore, we have to remind ourselves of the legal business range. And if you think that hair transplant surgery is just a matter of simple repeated labor and so anyone perform the surgery Then it will be an insult to someone like me who spent their whole life researching and undergoing thousands of surgeries

and presenting numerous theses. I take it very sincerely and have a great sense of responsibility. Each surgery builds upon the previous one and to say that it can be done by anyone is close to an insult. If I talk about the technical side of hair transplant there is no end.

We have to awaken ourselves and put in more effort for this to happen. At our hospital, we are putting every little effort possible, but even then we sometimes get unsatisfactory results. But trying to get satisfactory results without these efforts is like having a mind of a thief. Therefore, we are trying our best to do everything we possibly can.
