2 weeks after surgery: soft foods (egg stew, cooked fish, etc.) Absolutely no spicy, hard, or chewy food for 2 months after surgery. Warm compress//Cold compress Apply cold compress from the day of surgery to the 3rd day post-op Take turns applying warm and cold compress after the 4th day post-op Warm compress// Softly press warm towel on your face.

Cold compress// Wrap the ice pack you had put in the freezer with a thin gauze or tissue and constantly apply it on your face. Avoid going to the sauna and the pool for a month after the surgery. Drinking and smoking can hinder the recovery process and make swelling worse. You may have a hard time opening your mouth for 1 to 2 months after the surgery.

Do not blow your nose or open your mouth wide(no more than length of 3 fingers combined) for 6 weeks. Exhausting workouts should be avoided for a month. Light workouts are OK 2 weeks after the surgery. Swelling is the worst on the first 2-3 days post-op. Sleep with your head above your heart level. Do not dye your hair or get a perm for at least 4 weeks after the surgery.
