For those worried about the size of scars. Does this actually work? Hello. Beauty is Woori. This is Dr. Jung from Woori Beauty TV. Have you ever heard of a mini facelift? When you look into mini facelifts, compared to traditional facelifts, they involve less incision and smaller dissection areas.

So the question arises, does it really work? We get a lot of these kinds of questions. Today, I’ll tell you everything about mini facelifts. Q. Dr. Jung, what is a mini facelift? The concept of a mini facelift isn’t technically defined in textbooks. But many patients express a preference for shorter incision lengths.

So you could say the term arose to meet that demand. Let me explain what a mini facelift is at Woori Plastic Surgery. At Woori Plastic Surgery, a mini facelift involves shorter incisions compared to a traditional facelift. The incision begins at the temple, goes down, and extends in front of the ear. This is where the incision is made. Since the incision is located higher, the lifted areas will be in this direction.

It’s pulled in this arrow-like direction. That’s what a mini facelift is. It involves manipulating the retaining ligaments that hold the skin in place and the SMAS layer beneath the muscle. Q. What is the difference between a traditional facelift and a mini facelift? A traditional facelift is essentially a full facelift. All the retaining ligaments in the face are cut, and the dissection is quite extensive.

It even extends to the neck, lifting everything up. There’s a significant amount of excess skin removed. Typically, it’s said that removing one centimeter of skin takes ten years off. In a mini facelift, since the incision is limited to this area, the amount of skin that can be removed is also limited. It’s not that no skin is removed.

But the dissection doesn’t extend to the neck, so the area of dissection is narrower. However, since the retaining ligaments are cut and the SMAS layer is adjusted, the effect is still significant. Q. Who are good candidates for a mini facelift? Those concerned about areas like the temple, the mid-cheeks, or nasolabial folds. Also, people who are worried about wrinkles around the corners of the mouth.

Another group is those concerned about the size of scars. For example, people with jobs requiring their hair to be tied back. Or those with short hair who don’t want scars visible behind the neck. For these individuals, a neck lift might not be needed. But they might want some lifting in the facial area. In such cases, a mini facelift is a good option. If you want to test this at home,

gently pull your skin from the sideburns toward the ears. If you like the look without pulling too hard, you may benefit from a mini facelift. This can give you an idea of the potential effect. I hope today’s video helped clarify misconceptions about mini facelifts. If you have more questions about mini or traditional facelifts, please leave them in the comments. I’ll reply sincerely.
