The issue there was a drug called Propofol It’s a drug that calms and puts patients to sleep during surgery It’s somewhat addictive if used repeatedly It feels really good when you’re falling asleep So if you get addicted, patients start asking for it It’s supposed to be used to calm patients during procedures or surgeries

But if the drug itself becomes the goal, that’s wrong So, have you ever had the devil’s temptation, Doctor? No? I’m already too busy with surgeries, no time for that [Addicted to plastic surgery] Addicted to plastic surgery

At first, someone gets one plastic surgery done They get their eyes done and look much prettier They get so many compliments, so they do their nose too They look even prettier and are happier, so they get contouring done too That level wouldn’t really be considered plastic surgery addiction They get one eye surgery, look prettier, and feel good

But they can’t stop there and keep doing more eye surgeries They’re not satisfied, so they do it again and again It’s impulsive When impulsivity is involved, that’s when we usually call it addiction There’s a limit to how much you can improve your appearance We usually recommend surgery when a certain level of change is expected

We don’t recommend surgery just to achieve minor changes If you obsess over those tiny changes, that’s when it becomes addiction Do you see many of those cases? I try not to set expectations too high when I consult If expectations are too high Even if I do my best with the surgery, if the patient isn’t satisfied

Then both the doctor and the patient end up unhappy The changes anticipated by the doctor and the patient’s expectations should somewhat align If there’s too big a gap, disputes can arise later Have you ever operated on celebrities? There have been a few, but mostly trainees [I’m a 25-year contouring specialist] What I mainly do is contouring surgery

Getting contouring surgery after becoming famous is a big risk for them Because it completely changes the image they had So they usually come in before debuting for surgery Have you seen any cases where they debuted? There have been some But I can’t talk about specifics

It’s the patient’s personal information, and it’s an ethical issue between the doctor and the patient You know, making it big in the entertainment industry seems really tough Skills are important, but I think luck plays a big part too Styles keep changing, as modern society does Things have to line up just right, I think
