Doctor, I want every wrinkle gone. Pull everything as tight as possible. I completely understand how you feel, but if we operate that way, your face may look tighter, yet it can become difficult to open your mouth, and your earlobes may stretch downward. You'll regret it for years. That's not the outcome you want every time you look in the mirror, is it? The moment you believe you can become more beautiful,

your transformation has already begun. Hello, I'm Dr. Lee from 21 Plastic Surgery. These days during consultations, I sometimes wonder whether I'm a plastic surgeon or a human ironing machine. Some patients ask me to pull one more centimeter of wrinkles, or erase every neck wrinkle completely. But a facelift is not about stretching your skin as tight as possible.

The tissues beneath your skin aren't rubber bands. They have limits. If you overdo it, problems are inevitable. Today, I'll explain how to avoid a failed facelift. First, pulling only the skin too aggressively can lead to scarring and even skin necrosis. A proper facelift

targets the SMAS layer, the deep structural layer beneath the skin, rather than just the surface. But even the SMAS layer shouldn't simply be pulled as hard as possible. If excessive tension is applied without considering your skin's elasticity, the tissue may tear, or the results may actually be reduced. Think of an old piece of fabric. If you pull it too hard,

it doesn't just stretch— it eventually rips. The same principle applies. Finding the right amount of tension for your unique skin condition is what defines both surgical skill and patient safety. Second, don't expect a facelift alone to erase every wrinkle. Deep nasolabial folds,

in particular, have structural limitations. Since they're connected to the muscles around your mouth, pulling too aggressively can make your facial expressions look unnatural, or even create a monkey-like appearance. That's why a strategic approach works much better. Lift the overall facial contour with the facelift,

fill deep folds with fat grafting or fillers, and reduce sagging cheek fullness with liposuction. Combining these treatments creates a much more natural and elegant result. Third, don't mistake your immediate postoperative appearance for the final outcome. Many patients look in the mirror

and start analyzing every detail, thinking one side looks tighter than the other. Music
