What happens when a dentist isn't satisfied with simply saying we don't offer that? At Oak's Dental Clinic, Dr. Bay decided to find out for himself. Literally testing a treatment the clinic doesn't even provide just to understand
who it might actually help. Oaks Dental has never offered non- prep veneers as a standard treatment. But that hasn't stopped Dr. Bay from staying curious. He recently tried non-prep veneers on himself, not to change his own smile,
but to genuinely understand how they'd look, how they'd feel, and most importantly, who they could be right for. Because at Oaks, innovation doesn't stop at we don't do that. It starts with asking, "What else could we do for our
patients?" Here's the idea behind it. As people age, their teeth naturally wear down and become shorter. At the same time, skin loses elasticity, which causes the lips to rest lower and cover more of the teeth. Together, these two
changes create a look that's subtle but powerful, a smile, and even a face that appears older than it actually is. Dr. Bay started wondering, could restoring just a bit of that lost tooth length help patients look more youthful again
without needing to reshape or prep the natural teeth at all? That question is exactly why non-prep veneers came into the conversation. Unlike traditional veneers, non- prep veneers add length and shape without removing tooth
structure, which makes them appealing, but also means they're only appropriate for a very specific type of patient. That's why this isn't being considered for everyone. Only a very small, carefully selected pool of candidates
would even be considered people who are a perfect fit in every single aspect. The right age, the right current tooth length, a healthy and well-aligned bite, and no other dental issues that need to be addressed first. In other words, the
ideal candidate is someone whose only concern is length. Someone looking to restore a more youthful smile with nothing else standing in the way. Right now, this is still early. Dr. Ba's test on himself along with initial
conversations happening at the clinic are part of exploring whether this could become a real option for the rare perfect candidate. Nothing is being rolled out broadly. It's a careful deliberate process of testing an idea
before ever offering it to patients. This is really what Oaks Dental is about, not settling for. That's just how it's done. But constantly asking what more could be done and testing those ideas responsibly before bringing them
to patients. Curious whether you might be the kind of candidate this could apply to one day? Reach out and start the conversation with the Oaks dental team.
