IPR stands for interproximal reduction. It basically means sanding in between the teeth, and for Invisalign to work, a little space is needed for the teeth to move around. It can feel a bit uncomfortable at times, but it doesn’t really hurt, and you get used to it after a while.

Hi Charlie.

IPR stands for interproximal reduction. It basically means sanding in between the teeth. So there’s going to be a little reduction. No, it doesn’t really hurt, but after removing some part of your enamel, you feel a little sensitive honestly for 2 weeks to a month. But you get used to it because, for the Invisalign to work, I need a little space for the teeth to move around. That’s why we need to reduce and shave a little bit in between the teeth.

Yeah, it is safe for me. The biggest gap is 0.5, and the smallest one are 0.2 mm. No, it doesn’t feel uncomfortable, but when I eat, I can get some food stuck in it.

Oh, yeah, definitely. I actually do feel it. I can see it, and also I can feel it with my tongue. No, it doesn’t really show actually unless I tell them I’m having Invisalign or the attachments. So, it doesn’t affect any kind of confidence, but it’s a little uncomfortable at times.

In the beginning, it actually does affect my speech because I never had anything on my teeth. But now I’m having some plastic. It really gave me a hard time speak clearly.

Was like mumbling, blah blah blah, a little bit stupid. But it takes not that long to get used to it.

Yeah, I think it could take longer because the teeth won’t move as much as it’s supposed to be. So I think I would make sure to wear them for more than 20 hours a day. Unless you’re probably going to have additional, and the treatment is going to get longer. See you next time.
