Used the wrong way, it's actually a habit that wrecks your skin. To prevent that, a new product has come out. The weather feels way too hot today. Europe has been insanely hot this year, but they say Korea's been pretty cool.

When it comes to skincare, summer really is the most important season. In today's video I'll cover the right way to care for your skin in summer. I'll go into detail, so please watch to the end. CHAPTER 01 Summer Skincare Mistakes If you look at our fathers' generation,

they washed their face with nothing but soap. My da— I'm not trashing my dad, but... He didn't even use shampoo — soap for his hair too. Hair, face, body, all of it. One all-in-one. All-in-one existed back then too.

It was just a different product. Scrubbing your face hard like that is really bad for you. Here's why. If you completely strip away the oil film that makes up your skin,

THE SKIN BARRIER IS GONE, AND DAMAGE SPEEDS UP your body compensates by producing even more sebum. And what happens when you make more sebum? PORES And second: SHEET MASKS

Since skin gets dry in summer, some people think they should mask every day. That can actually backfire. MASKING EVERY DAY When you put a sheet mask on your face, the ingredients only need

15 to 20 minutes to absorb. After that, though, the drying mask starts pulling moisture back out of your skin. Sometimes you doze off with a mask on, and when you peel it off your face is bone dry. You've all been there. Just me?

Used well, of course, it delivers active ingredients into your skin. But used wrong — SHEET MASKS they say too much of anything is bad. Sheet masks do have good active ingredients,

but if you overdo it, the dead skin swells up and blocks the way out of your pores. And summer especially is the season when sebum production ramps up. The higher the temperature,

the more sebum your body produces. So when sebum is already high and you go and block the pores on top of that? The sebum builds up underneath, creating the perfect setup for acne and breakouts. So how you should actually use sheet masks —

I'll come back to that in a bit. When the sun gets stronger in summer, UV rays get stronger too. And UV is the single biggest cause of skin aging. So how do you block it?

You have to cover your face. But you can't walk around with your face covered all day. So the thing you put on instead is SUNSCREEN Sunscreen... do you use it, PD? Sometimes.

Sometimes? You need to use it every day. To prevent skin aging, you have to block UV rays. These days I'm sure you're all wearing sunscreen.

But there's one thing people miss. Sunscreen — SUNSCREEN so, sunscreen — SUNSCREEN Doctor, they say one application is enough —

is that not true? Who said that? Was that me? It's better to reapply sunscreen often. But reapplying often isn't easy. Especially for women wearing makeup —

layering on top feels gross. And when you sweat... still, if you're outdoors and sweating a lot, it washes right off. SUNSCREEN I work indoors. Do I still have to wear sunscreen?

Indoors, sunscreen isn't strictly a must. But if you're heading out for lunch, putting on another layer before you go helps a lot. Now that it's summer,

AIR CONDITIONING When you run the AC, the indoor temperature drops and the humidity drops with it. And that can leave your skin even drier. Especially if the air blows right at you, it blows all the moisture off your skin,

so it gets much drier. It's summer and sebum is supposed to be up, but my skin feels tight underneath — isn't that strange? Some of you might be thinking that. It's the air-conditioned environment. More moisture evaporates from your skin,

which is why it feels that way. So how should you care for your skin in summer? Let me walk you through it. CHAPTER 02 The Right Summer Skincare Routine CLEANSING At night you've got a lot of buildup from being outside,

and you've been wearing sunscreen too. So you need to cleanse a little more thoroughly. If you wore a lot of makeup or sunscreen, I recommend double cleansing. Double cleansing means, first,

using something like cleansing water or oil to dissolve the buildup and makeup on the surface of your skin. And second, using a gentle cleanser to clean a little deeper, one more time. But if you don't wear makeup, you're mostly indoors, and you only used a light sunscreen —

MOSTLY INDOORS then washing carefully with just a mildly acidic cleanser is more than enough to remove a light sunscreen. And for people with sensitive skin, this may actually be the better method. Some people think alkaline cleansers

are never okay — that's not true either. If you produce a lot of sebum, using a mildly alkaline cleanser at night actually helps. In the morning, it's enough to lightly clear off whatever built up on your skin while you slept.

So I recommend washing a bit more gently than you do at night. If your skin is very sensitive, rinsing with just water is fine. If your skin is on the tougher side, use a mildly acidic cleanser and clean lightly.

In my case, I produce a fair amount of sebum. So at night I use a mildly alkaline cleanser and wash pretty thoroughly. In the morning I use a mildly acidic cleanser and just clean lightly.

SUNSCREEN The one thing to remember about sunscreen: it's not a one-and-done. You have to reapply it. Everyone, hold out a finger for me. From here to here — about this much. SUNSCREEN

At first you'll think, isn't this way too much? It's not too much. You have to use this much for it to actually block UV. MOISTURIZING Is moisturizing in summer different from winter?

It is. In summer you produce more sebum, so if you use those thick, heavy winter creams, they clog your pores and can actually cause more breakouts. So if you're oily like me, for summer I'd recommend a light, lotion-type product.

In winter, go for something more moisturizing. CHAPTER 03 Best Treatments to Get Right Now If home care alone isn't cutting it for you, in-clinic treatments can definitely help. BELOTERO REVIVE GLYCEROL

HYALURONIC ACID It's a treatment that injects these right into the skin. You've probably heard of them. They're in a lot of cosmetics. But putting them directly into the skin works far better.

As for what they do, first is hydration, obviously. And because they calm skin sensitivity, redness goes down, and breakouts decrease too. Even your pores improve,

and it prevents water loss from the skin. And how long it lasts — HOW LONG IT LASTS at the long end, they say up to six months of noticeable effect. So if your skin gets dry in summer,

having it done about twice a year, regularly, will really leave your skin glossy and well hydrated. Usually we treat the butterfly zone — the cheeks — about this much. BUTTERFLY ZONE TREATMENT

Revive is on the pricier side. Typically, for 2cc, it varies from clinic to clinic, but it's usually around 700,000 won, up to 900,000 won. So yes, it's a bit expensive. JUVELOOK

Juvelook comes as a powder. So you mix it with water — that's called hydration. One vial gets split among several people. Usually two or three, sometimes more. You don't know how much water went in. To prevent that,

a new product has come out. JUVELOOK SKIN Think of it as one whole vial for a single person. One vial of the original Juvelook usually runs over 500,000 won, but with Juvelook Skin, you can get treated for around 300,000 to 400,000 won.

So with Juvelook Skin, since the entire vial goes to you, you never have to wonder if the clinic over-diluted it. That's the biggest advantage. POTENZA Fine needles come out

and deliver radiofrequency energy into the skin. When that energy goes in, it triggers collagen formation, your skin gets stronger, and your pores shrink. As a side benefit, when skin is healthier

sebum production drops a little too. That's why "Potenza for pores" is something a lot of people know. There's also another mode called the pumping tip. With the pumping tip, you apply the solution to the skin and fire it,

and the solution gets pushed inside. So if getting injected by hand terrifies you, Potenza can be POTENZA a way to get those good ingredients in. For a full-face treatment,

prices differ by clinic, but it runs from about 200,000 to 400,000 won. For the pumping tip — the mode that pushes the solution in — POTENZA PUMPING TIP Juvelook is usually what gets used.

For 2cc of Juvelook with the pumping tip, the low end is 300,000 to 400,000 won, and the high end goes a bit above that. CHAPTER 04 For My Skin Today as Well Today's video was about how to care for your skin in summer. That's what I put together for you.

Just following what I covered today can make your skin so much better. You don't need to spend big money. But if you're doing all this and it's still not working, then you can come in and get help from a treatment. Usually, though, home care alone

can improve your skin a lot. If today's video helped you, please subscribe, like, and turn on notifications. And if someone around you needs this, please share the video. That's it for today's video.
