On June 2.

Miss Korea 2025 Seoul/Gyeonggi/Incheon regional preliminaries.

I was invited as the only dentist to serve as a judge,

and I attended.

And I was also in charge of presenting an award directly to Kim Hyunjin, the ‘Miss Seoul/Gyeonggi/Incheon’ winner.

Watching the 25 contestants confidently

show their individual charms on stage..

I once again became certain.

In the end, what determines beauty is a ‘smile.’

1. Miss Korea 2025,

The dentist’s view of a ‘true smile’

When judging the Miss Korea 2025 regional preliminaries..

Even a glamorous dress or a balanced face shape was not as striking as a smile in that moment.

The alignment of the teeth shown when smiling and how much the gums are visible.

And whether they harmonize well with the rest of the face.

As a dentist, all of these things stood out to me at a glance.

Some people lit up the stage

more brightly than the lights with just one smile..

And for others, I thought that if they had just a slightly more harmonious smile, they could give off a much more comfortable impression.

That moment made me realize.

What may be just a passing smile to someone can be, to me, the scene that best explains that person.

2. A smile is an art

that is designed on the face.

This is also a part that applies to the Miss Korea 2025 judging..

On the way back after finishing the Miss Korea 2025 awards.

That was the thought I had.

And right after that, I was reminded of the scene in my treatment room where I worked with each patient to create their smile.

People who cover their mouths with their hands when they laugh,

people who cannot smile naturally when taking photos..

I have experienced countless times the change that comes from gaining confidence through a smile that has become more natural and beautiful for people like that. ^^
