Hello.
I’m Kim Tae-hyung, the director of Blanche Dental Clinic,
a clinic that gives confidence to your smile.
Recently, we held a Q&A session on Blanche Dental Clinic’s Instagram channel.

I’m answering everything myself.^^
There were many people who felt disappointed
because they couldn’t catch the live Q&A,
so I’ve come back today through the blog.^^
Although I can’t answer all more than 100 questions,
I selected a few that were asked especially often.
That’s enough small talk for now,
so let’s get started right away.
Q1. Can implant, Blanche, and whitening be done at the same time?
![Blanche: We’ll Answer All Your Questions [Q&A] image 3](https://pub-9f2bb3498faf4d1d8714b41df24753e3.r2.dev/content/clinics/archive/0tb3i63jip/naver_blog/blanche_clinic/assets/by_hash/fad7c2f9c9924e70cbe74cb4f4e1d2c5ac43e269d0d5bcb626561508fc68ddc7.gif)
If you plan to do Blanche on all of the front teeth,
whitening is unnecessary treatment.
Of course, if the procedure is done only on the front teeth or only on the lower teeth,
whitening can be done on the opposite side.
If you plan to proceed partially like this,
you should do whitening first.
There is a limit to how white teeth can become with whitening,
so it is better to match Blanche to the whitened teeth.
There is no fixed order between implants and Blanche.
You can do both at the same time,
or you can have the treatment you want first.
They are separate procedures that do not affect each other,
so you can decide comfortably.^^

Q2. What do you do with Blanche if you have a fixed retainer?
Usually, when we say fixed retainer,
it refers to a fixed retainer attached to the back side of the teeth after orthodontic treatment is finished.
![Blanche: We’ll Answer All Your Questions [Q&A] image 5](https://pub-9f2bb3498faf4d1d8714b41df24753e3.r2.dev/content/clinics/archive/0tb3i63jip/naver_blog/blanche_clinic/assets/by_hash/822b394aa03b7416fc1de368435c758acda59cd6543cc0c818b23c5206f645df.gif)
Blanche is bonded to the outer surface of the teeth,
so even if you have a fixed retainer, it is not a problem at all.
Q3. If you have a fixed retainer + Blanche, how do you brush your teeth?
It is true that the more thoroughly you brush,
the better.
![Blanche: We’ll Answer All Your Questions [Q&A] image 6](https://pub-9f2bb3498faf4d1d8714b41df24753e3.r2.dev/content/clinics/archive/0tb3i63jip/naver_blog/blanche_clinic/assets/by_hash/3c5fedb419233e5acec466ca95c0db965db55c439cd1e086f8d3d812da753bf5.gif)
However, Blanche does not make food particles or tartar more likely to get stuck.
If you already brush carefully in daily life,
you can keep doing the same without worrying more.
That said, if you have a fixed retainer on the lower teeth,
you need to be especially thorough regardless of Blanche.
This is because it is an area with salivary glands and a lot of saliva, making it an environment where tartar can easily build up.
I recommend brushing with what feels like a rather strong motion.
If you brush while looking in a mirror,
it would be good to brush hard enough that toothpaste splashes onto the mirror.^^
Q4. Can Blanche be done only on discolored teeth?
![Blanche: We’ll Answer All Your Questions [Q&A] image 7](https://pub-9f2bb3498faf4d1d8714b41df24753e3.r2.dev/content/clinics/archive/0tb3i63jip/naver_blog/blanche_clinic/assets/by_hash/06e4eba9cc8a2d0d08f78dc0a47211871cac438a8699f85edd3fe391b7822dd0.png)
I think this question was probably asked by people whose teeth turned black after root canal treatment.
Teeth that have undergone root canal treatment all become discolored without exception.
In particular, front teeth have thin gums,
so even the gums may appear darker.
![Blanche: We’ll Answer All Your Questions [Q&A] image 8](https://pub-9f2bb3498faf4d1d8714b41df24753e3.r2.dev/content/clinics/archive/0tb3i63jip/naver_blog/blanche_clinic/assets/by_hash/c3e76335265fdaa4e52935c2e60ea8eeee6be63e4104cefab0458246673f2018.gif)
Because the issue is that the dark tooth color shows through thin gums,
you do not need to worry that your gum health has also become a problem.
Since this is a natural phenomenon, there is no functional problem,
but it is true that front teeth can look less aesthetically pleasing.
In this case, non-vital tooth whitening, which makes the entire tooth white, can help.
Regular whitening applies whitening agent only to the outer surface of the tooth,
but non-vital tooth whitening involves drilling a hole into the tooth
and injecting whitening agent.
It is not about drilling a new hole.
![Blanche: We’ll Answer All Your Questions [Q&A] image 9](https://pub-9f2bb3498faf4d1d8714b41df24753e3.r2.dev/content/clinics/archive/0tb3i63jip/naver_blog/blanche_clinic/assets/by_hash/5ad4ee7f41f2873592033794b8b78b6455f6853a4d17398da4890b2cea4b94ae.gif)
The whitening agent is injected through the opening that was already made for the root canal treatment.
Some people worry whether it will be sensitive or painful.
Since the tooth’s nerve is already dead,
you will not feel pain or sensitivity at all.^^
If the root also becomes white,
the gums return to their original state as well.
After that, matching the color with the surrounding teeth and doing Blanche can lead to a satisfying result.

Q5. Can Blanche be applied to a tooth with a crown?
In this case, it is better to remove the existing crown first
and then proceed with Blanche.
Blanche can be done by bonding only to the outer surface,
but using the same technology,
there is also a method of covering the entire tooth.
Compared with materials such as gold or zirconia,
it comes out prettier and more beautiful,
so if you value aesthetics,
I recommend a Blanche crown.
![Blanche: We’ll Answer All Your Questions [Q&A] image 11](https://pub-9f2bb3498faf4d1d8714b41df24753e3.r2.dev/content/clinics/archive/0tb3i63jip/naver_blog/blanche_clinic/assets/by_hash/5012470b5be83534d0ab70334475265f7bb1a8a09cff405e2fec6a7661d4d302.gif)
"Is it durable enough to be used as a crown?"
For this question,
I’ll refer you to the column below.^^

Q6. How do you treat black triangles?
![Blanche: We’ll Answer All Your Questions [Q&A] image 12](https://pub-9f2bb3498faf4d1d8714b41df24753e3.r2.dev/content/clinics/archive/0tb3i63jip/naver_blog/blanche_clinic/assets/by_hash/74f0ea9601353e57c8b7d6d7212fb94f72fbdc4cc4d8569aa8fc62ee8e4116fb.gif)
Black triangles are usually a phenomenon caused by orthodontic treatment or aging.
There are ways to solve it.
Recently, one method has been to fill the empty spaces with collagen to remove the dark-looking areas.
In fact, the best treatment for preventing black triangles is something else.
That is Blanche.
![Blanche: We’ll Answer All Your Questions [Q&A] image 13](https://pub-9f2bb3498faf4d1d8714b41df24753e3.r2.dev/content/clinics/archive/0tb3i63jip/naver_blog/blanche_clinic/assets/by_hash/1b220afc7e0ed9847a1cec143bb0c08de7d87e6b5118c86a773bc7db4d1d88c8.png)
However, if you close the gap too much,
it may actually cause inflammation,
so it is better to close it only up to an appropriate point.
The appropriate point here is about 5 mm from the jawbone.
If you close it only up to this line,
the gums will naturally fill in,
forming the most ideal gum thickness.^^
Q7. Is Blanche aftercare available?
![Blanche: We’ll Answer All Your Questions [Q&A] image 14](https://pub-9f2bb3498faf4d1d8714b41df24753e3.r2.dev/content/clinics/archive/0tb3i63jip/naver_blog/blanche_clinic/assets/by_hash/cd69eec641cbc5f245609d29bad2beac269e6d5e2354c40013624affb684c445.gif)
Blanche is covered by aftercare warranty for up to 10 years.
However, this only means the warranty period is 10 years,
and if you continue to manage it well, you can use it semi-permanently for a long time.
That’s all for today’s questions.
There were also many people who asked about whether Blanche is possible,
and I have answered that question in detail in the column below.
<Examples suitable for each Blanche concern>
If the part you were curious about was not in today’s content,
feel free to ask separately anytime.
You can inquire via Instagram DM,
or you can contact the dental clinic.^^
When the questions pile up, I’ll come back with another Q&A.
