Hello, I’m Kim Ha-seong, the chief director of Yonsei Luminous Dental Clinic, sending warm greetings from Exit 4 of Gangnam Station along with the gentle feeling of spring. ^^

Today, rather than a formal greeting as the head of the clinic, I’d like to share my sincere thoughts as a dentist who wants to understand your concerns together with you~

Luminous, So That Smiles Shine Again

I remember the nights when I wrote down hundreds of words to name the clinic. The word I ultimately chose was Luminous, meaning to give off one’s own light in the dark~

We are all born with our own beautiful smiles. But with the passage of time or unexpected damage to our teeth, we sometimes lose that light for a while.

So I wanted to become a partner for everyone who visits our clinic, helping them smile brightly again when they look in the mirror!! I wanted to help restore the natural translucency and healthy radiance of the teeth. ^^

What I aim for first is not simply making teeth white, but completing a sense of “natural beauty” that blends well with each patient’s individual atmosphere.

What I value most in the treatment room is direction, not speed.

I often see many patients feeling anxious, saying, “Treatment started before I could properly hear the explanation.” I never take that anxiety lightly.

So I make two promises to myself every day. ✅A patient, waiting mindset (sufficient communication)

I believe clearly answering the question, “Why is this treatment necessary?” is the first duty of a doctor, so I show X-rays, 3D CT scans, and other images directly, and explain slowly and thoroughly until the patient fully understands the process and feels at ease.

Rather than a difficult explanation filled with medical terms, I communicate at the patient’s level until they nod and feel confident, thinking, “Ah, so this treatment is necessary.”

✅An honest conscience (preventing excessive treatment)

Also, “If this were my family, would I recommend this treatment now?” I only pick up my instruments when I can confidently answer “YES” to that question.

I honestly explain anything that is not urgently needed, and we discuss together by setting priorities for the treatments that are truly necessary.

Because I know better than anyone the distinct smell of disinfectant and the sound of machines that a dental clinic gives off, I put a great deal of effort into the space design as well.

I tried to capture the refined feel of a hotel and the warmth of a café.. Can you sense that even through the photos..?ㅎㅎ

In particular, the private treatment rooms, which I put the most effort into, were designed to be cozy so that patients can let go of their tension about treatment and rest comfortably for a moment.

In addition, we strictly manage the safety of every space patients stay in through a multi-step sterilization system, with the basic rule of using one instrument per person, so you can feel at ease~ ^^

One more point of pride at Yonsei Luminous Dental Clinic is our medical staff!

We are working together with dental hygienists who all hold licenses.

Our dental hygienists not only have highly specialized knowledge, but also a warm-hearted nature that carefully notices even the patient’s smallest discomfort.

For those who say, “I’m really scared of anesthetic injections,” we prepared gargle anesthesia and various anesthesia systems, and while I very slowly inject the anesthetic, we also prepared a comforting touch by holding your hand beside you. ^^ㅎㅎ (Please don’t be too scared~~)
