Today, I would like to introduce the case of a patient who traveled a long way from Wonju, Gangwon-do.

As we began the initial consultation, I wanted to make sure I repaid that trust.

The patient had come in for laminate veneers on the front teeth.

However, during a detailed examination, we discovered that secondary caries had developed around the existing crown at #21.

Secondary caries often develops unnoticed beneath old restorations. Even when the surface appears perfectly fine, it is fairly common for caries to be progressing deeper underneath than expected.

This patient’s condition was also difficult to identify visually, but thanks to the detailed examination, we were able to detect it in time.

The treatment plan was to remove the existing crown, thoroughly remove the secondary caries, and then place a laminate veneer to complete the treatment with a natural aesthetic result.

After carefully cleaning up the area affected by caries, placing a laminate veneer allows us to address both functional concerns and aesthetic improvement at the same time. ^^

In the post-treatment photos, you can see that the #21 area, which previously had a different shade, now blends naturally with the surrounding teeth, creating an even and brighter overall tone.

Because we also considered harmony with the gum line, the finished result looks natural rather than artificial.

Wonju, Gangwon-do..!! Since the patient had traveled such a long distance, I wanted to provide a satisfying result in a single visit, and the patient was pleased with the outcome as well! hehe 😊
