Hello.

I am Dr. Ha-sung Kim, the director of 연세루미너스치과.

Today, I would like to introduce a cavity treatment case involving a foreign patient who came from Australia.

While visiting Korea during a break from living abroad, she came to the clinic because she wanted to take care of all the dental treatment she had been putting off at once!

Because she was also comfortable communicating in English, we were able to proceed without language concerns, from explaining the Gangnam cavity treatment process to providing instructions on precautions. Haha.

An oral examination revealed cavities in three areas: tooth #16, the upper right molar; tooth #36, the lower left molar; and tooth #46, the lower right molar.

The cavities had progressed on the occlusal and adjacent surfaces, but they had not yet reached the nerves, so the situation could be adequately treated with composite resin fillings!

The earlier a cavity is detected, the smaller the treatment area becomes, allowing the natural tooth to be preserved for longer. It was really fortunate that she came in at this stage.

A composite resin filling involves thoroughly removing the cavity and restoring the area with a tooth-colored resin material. One advantage is that its color blends naturally with the natural tooth.

We carefully removed all the cavities in the three areas and finished the treatment with composite resin.

In the post-treatment photos, you can see that the restoration looks so natural that the traces of the Gangnam cavity treatment are barely noticeable. Haha.

Because all of the cavities were treated in a single visit, the patient was also pleased despite coming in during a busy schedule! 😊
