Today, I would like to introduce the case of a patient who visited us due to pain around the wisdom tooth area and loose teeth.

The patient was a 52-year-old man who visited us because the area around his left wisdom tooth was very painful and he felt that his teeth were loose.

A detailed examination, including CT and panoramic imaging, showed that inflammation had spread extensively around the loose teeth, and a total of five teeth—

#27, 28, 36, 37, 38

—were difficult to preserve.

Because the teeth were very loose and the area of inflammation was extensive, we developed a treatment plan aimed at restoring function through post-extraction implants in Gangnam.

Before placing the post-extraction implants in Gangnam, we carefully measured and analyzed the height and width of the bone at each implant site, as well as the distance from the nerve canal, using CT scans.

As shown in the images, we checked the condition of the bone one section at a time and planned safe and appropriate implant positions, depths, and directions.

Since the position and direction of an implant determine its long-term prognosis, this planning stage is the most important part of the treatment!

Immediate implant placement is a method in which extraction and implant placement are performed on the same day. It has the advantage of reducing the number and duration of treatment visits, but whether immediate placement is possible depends on the condition of the bone and the degree of inflammation at the extraction site. Therefore, sufficient examination and evaluation beforehand are necessary.

In this case, we determined that the bone condition after extraction was suitable for immediate placement and placed implants at three sites: #27, #36, and #37.

After placement, we checked the panoramic image and confirmed that the positions and directions of the post-extraction implants in Gangnam were as planned, with integration with the bone progressing smoothly.

Fortunately, the implants are integrating well with the bone, so we plan to place the final prostheses in about two months. ^^
