On May 30, I performed square jaw surgery (chin contour shaving) and zygomatic reduction surgery for this patient, and these are the CT scans taken before surgery and two weeks after surgery.
Recently, the patient visited again looking well, and since they wanted me to post their CT, I am sharing it gladly.
Originally, it was such a beautiful face that one might have wondered whether contour surgery was really necessary.
I came to know this patient through a close acquaintance who had surgery with me about a year ago.^^
There are several reasons why I do not often post CT scans of the patients I have operated on.
First, it is due to my own laziness.
Second, the postoperative 3D CT images I show are almost similar, so I think they would not be very new...
Third, in contour surgery, what matters is not only the state of the reshaped bone, but also the changes in the soft tissue covering the bone, and this is important for people who are hoping to see changes in their postoperative appearance.
Fourth, I think the goal of surgery is not simply the shape of neatly reshaped bone, and that the happy life of the patients who underwent surgery is more important.
Whenever I post CT scans before and after surgery for the patients I operated on, there is always a lot that feels embarrassing,
but as I recall the memory of having done my very best and cared for them sincerely,
from the moment I perform the surgery, I hope that the happy future I have long wished for them will come soon.
