This is a purchase and installation review of an auto lens cap made for the 2860 lens, which was released together with Sony's compact full-frame interchangeable-lens mirrorless camera, the A7C.
The 2860 lens has a small filter thread size, so removing and attaching the lens cap every time you use it was very annoying and inconvenient.
By chance, I learned that an auto lens cap originally released by a third-party company for Sony's crop-body lens, the SELP1650, is also compatible with the SEL 2860 lens, which uses the same filter thread size, so I ordered it overseas (via AliExpress).

It is a product released by a company called JJC, and the product description states that it is compatible with SONY E PZ 1650 and SONY FE 2860.

This is the auto lens cap taken out of the product packaging.

What is leaning diagonally against the lens is the auto lens cap.

This is the lens with the auto lens cap attached, and you simply mount it the same way you would attach a filter using a screw mount.

When you rotate the zoom lens to use it like this, the cap opens automatically.

This is the state where the zoom lens has been rotated in the opposite direction and the lens cap is slightly closed.

In actual use after installation, it is very convenient, but due to the product structure, some vignetting occurs at the wide-angle end.
The vignetting appears in the 28–30 mm range, and it disappears from around 35 mm.

Vignetting is visible around the corners in the 28 mm range.

From the 35 mm range onward, there is no vignetting at all.

For details about the unboxing and installation method, it would be good to refer to the YouTube video below.
