A prompter is one of the pieces of equipment that can be a crucial help in shortening recording time when producing interview or explanatory video content.
A prompter helps the person being interviewed look straight into the camera while reading the script displayed on the screen, which keeps their gaze from drifting and helps prevent lines from getting tangled or stuck.
Prompter equipment comes in a very wide range of price points, but I tried buying an inexpensive, simple one first.
The prompter’s structure was very simple, and it works on the principle of reflecting the script displayed on a smartphone or tablet onto a reflective mirror. Also, by securely mounting the camera on the opposite side of the prompter, the camera lens on the other side of the mirror is able to film the person being interviewed.

This is a setup with a Sony A7C body mounted with a 35mm F1.4 GM lens on the prompter, and I used Leofoto’s mini tripod, the MT-03.
You can choose and attach either a smartphone mount or a tablet mount depending on the purpose.

After setting up the prompter, you have to turn the screw from underneath to mount the camera, which can be quite inconvenient.
So I think it would be convenient to attach a quick release mount in advance.
As shown in the photos below, you can choose either the smartphone mount or the tablet mount depending on the purpose and attach it under the prompter’s mirror.

This is a real shot of my test script, taken with an iPad mini placed on the tablet mount and using the prompter app.
