1.5 km Samcheong-dong-gil, from Dongsipjagak in Jongno-gu to Samcheong Tunnel
- This was designated for the first time this year as a beautiful autumn foliage road lined with ginkgo and zelkova trees. It connects Gyeongbokgung Palace with galleries, museums, quaint workshops, and great restaurants in Samcheong-dong, and Samcheong Park at the end makes it ideal for a family outing.
Deoksugung-gil, 800 meters from Daehanmun Gate at Deoksugung Palace to the Kyunghyang Shinmun building
- As a representative downtown walking route, the large ginkgo and zelkova trees and the autumn leaves of the small apricot trees are especially beautiful. With Deoksugung Palace, the city art museum, performance venues, and movie theaters placed throughout, it is a great outing route.
Itaewon-ro, 3.05 km from Samgakji Station to Noksapyeong Station
- This is a road of beautiful autumn foliage and fallen leaves lined with ginkgo and plane trees. Also known these days as Commes des Garçons Street, it is a trendy area packed with uniquely designed shopping spaces and restaurants, making it a tourist attraction as well. It also connects to Namsan toward the Hyatt Hotel side. Cheonggyecheon is another beautiful downtown route, with zelkova foliage running through the city center, and it links the downtown area, Dongdaemun, and the Sinseoldong Pungmul Market, making it an excellent outing course.
A foliage route to walk along the water
It is mainly a riverside walking path where you can comfortably walk along a beautiful autumn foliage route without encountering vehicles. It is also characterized by scenic views connected to the river and spaces where you can exercise along the way.
Songjeong embankment from Seongdong Bridge to Gunja Bridge
- The lush forest stretching 3.2 km is well known, and the 5.6 km embankment path of Jungnangcheon within Dongdaemun-gu is also famous for the autumn leaves of cherry blossom and zelkova trees.
A 3 km section of the Ui-cheon embankment path in Gangbuk-gu
- It is a beautiful fallen-leaf path lined with plane trees. The Jungnangcheon embankment path in Dobong-gu and the Hongjecheon riverside path in Seodaemun-gu are also counted among the scenic walking routes along beautiful streams. The Anyangcheon walking route spanning Guro-gu and Geumcheon-gu, as well as Yeouido Yunjungno circling around the Yeouido Saetgang, are also beautiful in autumn with the foliage of cherry blossom and zelkova trees. Yangjaecheon is one of the representative walking routes with beautiful autumn scenery, with 3 million flowering plants planted there.
Namsan North Side Walking Trail
- Seoul's representative walking trail and a gentle autumn foliage road lined with cherry blossom trees. In particular, it is easy to access with strollers and wheelchairs, so many elderly people and people with disabilities visit and enjoy it. Nakseongdae-gil on the slope of Gwanaksan also has an impressive wide sidewalk lined with cherry blossom trees in autumn. Nakseongdae Park, which honors General Kang Gam-chan, has recently been refurbished, making it even more atmospheric, and visitors can enjoy not only Gwanaksan but also the Seoul Science Education Center, English Village, and Seoul National University.
Yangjae Citizens' Forest and nearby Culture and Arts Park
- The huge metasequoia-lined autumn road is impressive, and Seokchon Lake also has beautiful cherry blossom foliage and is convenient to combine with Lotte World. Large parks are also places that must be visited during the foliage season. Olympic Park itself has been created for more than 20 years, so the foliage of its large trees is very beautiful, and the walking paths surrounding the park, such as Wiryeseong-gil, are also excellent places to enjoy the autumn leaves.
Ttukseom Seoul Forest
- The metasequoia and ginkgo foliage are beautiful, and World Cup Park is also lovely, with the pampas grass of Haneul Park and the zelkova foliage of Pyeonghwa Park. The ginkgo trees in Boramae Park and the cherry blossom-lined road in Children's Grand Park are also must-see foliage routes, and the zelkova and cherry blossom loop trail in Seoul Grand Park, as well as the fallen-leaf pool, are especially popular with children.
Walkway from Achasan in Gwangjin-gu to Walkerhill Hotel, Walkerhill-gil
- You can comfortably walk along a wooden deck sidewalk through a foliage road turned red with cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, and the Achasan Forest Path connected to the nearby Achasan Ecological Park is a recommended walking route where you can stroll comfortably through the woods.
Bukhansan foliage road
- Gangbuk-gu’s 4.19-gil and Insubong-gil are wonderful foliage roads you encounter on the way up Bukhansan, and the 4 km stretch of Jinheung-ro in Eunpyeong-gu, from Sinsa Crossroads to the Gugi Tunnel where it meets Bukhansan, is also a beautiful foliage road lined with ginkgo and cherry blossom trees.
Seodaemun Ansan Walking Trail
- Walking through the forest along the zelkova-lined trail, you come to an impressive autumn foliage forest path that leads into a metasequoia grove. The walking trail inside Ujang Park in Gangseo-gu connects to Wondangsan and Geomdeoksan, while Banghwa Park connects to Gaehwasan or Kkyonggok.

- The cherry blossom foliage here is one of the earliest in Seoul. With many rest areas along the way, including a forest library, and a wide paved road, it is also convenient for wheelchairs and strollers. (Stroller rental available)
In addition, a ‘photo contest’ themed around Seoul’s autumn foliage and fallen leaves will be held for the first time this year. Any Seoul resident may participate as long as the photo was taken in Seoul, and entries will be accepted for one month in November on the Seoul Parks website (http://parks.seoul.go.kr). Submitted photos will be reviewed by experts and others, and small commemorative gifts will be sent to selected participants. They will also be used in a variety of Seoul city promotional materials.
