Today, I am posting the 3D CT images taken before surgery and at 2 weeks after surgery for a patient who underwent reduction surgery on only one cheekbone because the contours of the cheekbones on both sides were different, along with square jaw surgery and genioplasty for the lower jaw area.
I have previously posted about the cause of cheek sagging that can occur after zygoma reduction surgery and how to prevent it. I understand that many people have questions and concerns about cheek sagging related to cheekbone surgery.
The 3D CT images I am sharing today are from before surgery and 2 weeks after surgery, but the surgery itself was performed about 10 months ago.
Because the patient consented to the release of facial photos, I think it will be fine to later post photos showing the changes in the actual appearance before surgery and as time passes after surgery.
Moreover, since zygoma reduction surgery was performed only on the right side, I think that if I later post photos showing the actual changes in appearance before surgery and over time, it will also be possible to make a more accurate judgment about the progress of the cheek area on both sides after surgery and about cheek sagging.
I think this will be useful material for people who do not fully trust my explanation that, as long as the direction of bone movement in zygoma reduction surgery is appropriate, there is no need to worry about cheek sagging.
