Hello, this is AINIQ Plastic Surgery.
If you were to ask what the saddest part of aging is,
it would probably be the skin gradually losing elasticity
and the increasing wrinkles.
We may not be able to go back to how we looked in our youth,
but there are plenty of ways to slow and improve aging.
Even if you do not go to a shop, it is good to
care for your skin consistently at home and do light exercise
three times a week.
If aging cannot be resolved even with these methods,
we recommend considering a procedure or surgery.
At AINIQ, there are minimal-incision lifting and lower blepharoplasty procedures
for middle-aged patients.
Shall we take a closer look?

Minimal-incision lifting, or brow-below lifting,
is a procedure for people whose eyelids have sagged,
making their eyes appear smaller and blocking their field of vision.
Lower blepharoplasty is performed when the under-eye fat protrudes
and the skin under the eyes has loosened.
There is also upper blepharoplasty, which many people know about.
Let’s go through each one step by step.

The first is brow-below lifting.
This is a method that resolves excess skin between the eyebrow and the eye
by removing the skin and muscle below the eyebrow.
By excising only the sagging area without damaging the original double eyelid line,
the appearance does not change even after surgery,
making it much more natural than upper blepharoplasty.
Let’s briefly look at the surgical steps as well.
Step 1. After consulting with a specialist, decide whether to proceed with surgery.
Step 2. Remove the skin below the eyebrow
and lift and fix the sagging eyelid.
Step 3. Suture along the eyebrow line
so that the scar is not visible.
Step 4. The eyes change into a clearer, firmer appearance.

Next is upper blepharoplasty.
These days, this surgery is not being recommended.
The reason is that the results look unnatural and the appearance changes.
The skin of the eyelid is thin at the lower part,
and becomes thicker closer to the upper eyebrow.
However, upper blepharoplasty removes the thin skin just above the double eyelid line,
so the thicker upper skin comes down,
making the eyelid thicker and unnatural.
That is why AINIQ recommends brow-below lifting,
which removes the thicker upper skin.

Next is lower blepharoplasty.
This surgery removes the sagging tissue under the eyes to
create a clean under-eye area.
By removing only 80% of the skin,
it can be seen as a safe method that helps prevent ectropion,
the biggest complication of lower blepharoplasty.
Ectropion is a condition in which the lower eyelid turns outward,
and it is a side effect caused by excessive skin removal.
As mentioned above, AINIQ removes only 80% of the sagging skin,
preserving the muscle as much as possible and reducing the risk of ectropion
to nearly zero.
Then let’s briefly look at the steps of lower blepharoplasty as well.
Step 1. If the skin and fat under the eyes look saggy
or protruded, receive a consultation to determine whether surgery is needed.
Step 2. Once surgery is decided, remove the sagging skin
and redistribute the protruding fat.
Step 3. Become reborn with a natural and clean under-eye area.

So far, we have looked at minimal-incision lifting
(brow-below lifting), which helps middle-aged patients find a new life,
as well as lower blepharoplasty and upper blepharoplasty.
