Hello. This is INIQUE Plastic Surgery.
Do you know which part of a person’s face stands out the most?
That’s right! It’s the eyes.
Even without speaking, when you look into someone’s eyes,
you can tell how that person feels.
What would you think if those eyes were not symmetrical?
Of course, everyone’s eyes are asymmetrical.
But there seem to be quite a few people who feel stressed
because their asymmetry is especially noticeable.
So today, let’s look at balanced, harmonious
eyes (double eyelids).

Eyes that are not symmetrical are generally
either a monolid where one double eyelid fold has come undone, or
a multiple-fold double eyelid (triple-fold eyelid).
If a double eyelid has come undone, it needs to be operated on again
to secure it firmly.
At INIQUE, we use our proprietary technique called the Smooth Incision Method
to prevent the double eyelid from coming undone.
The inner corner of the eye is fixed in three layers,
while the middle and outer parts are fixed at a shallower depth
so that they fold naturally.
By adjusting the fixation depth by area like this,
a natural line can be created that does not come undone and is not too deep,
and it will also become symmetrical with the other side.

The second case, multiple-fold double eyelids, occurs in people
who lack fat and soft tissue above the eyes.
The eyelid consists of skin on the outermost layer,
with muscle and other soft tissue, as well as fat,
positioned beneath it in sequence.
When there is enough volume above the eyes, the skin above
the double eyelid sufficiently covers the skin below the fold.
When there is not enough volume, however, the skin above the double eyelid
sinks in, creating wrinkles above the double eyelid.
In such cases, the problem can be addressed by adding volume
through fat grafting above the eyes.
However, because eyelid skin is thin, if fat is injected,
it may appear bulky or be felt through the skin,
so the amount injected at one time must be limited.

Multiple-fold double eyelids can also occur
due to adhesions caused by surgery.
This is a case where a previous high double eyelid was lowered through surgery,
and adhesions formed at the height where the original eyelid line had been,
causing a double fold.
In such cases, the adhered area is released
and dissection is performed to prevent recurrence.
First, the adhesion is dissected, and to prevent it from happening again,
fat and muscle are lowered and inserted.
At this time, for people with ptosis,
it is advisable to combine the procedure with eye-opening correction.

All of the procedures introduced so far are revision surgeries,
so they can only be performed after six months have passed since the first surgery.
In general, it takes about six months for hard scar tissue to soften,
which is why this timing is set.
However, if the symptoms are severe
and normal daily life is impossible,
the procedure can be performed immediately regardless of timing,
so please visit us for a consultation!!

INIQUE has extensive experience from performing more than 5,000 eye surgeries
and revision surgeries,
and through continuous research for natural-looking eyes,
we even filed a trademark with the Korean Intellectual Property Office for our proprietary technique.
We have also been recognized through a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare,
as well as textbook publications and academic papers.
Revision surgery, which is more important than the first surgery, should be
carefully researched and decided upon.
Then, as if you had been beautiful from the very beginning,
this was INIQUE.
Thank you.
