Hello, this is Ainik Plastic Surgery.
It has already been several years since COVID-19
became part of our daily lives.
When COVID-19 first started, most people did not think
it would last this long.
But now, wearing masks has become
part of everyday life, and when wearing a mask,
only the eyes are visible, so we end up imagining a
person’s overall face just from the eyes.
As a result, when someone takes off their mask and
does not match that image, people react so strongly
that they even call them a “mask scammer,” which is
the unfortunate reality now.
Because of this, people’s interest in the eyes has
increased recently, and consultations for plastic surgery
or eye correction are on the rise.
The topic we will discuss in today’s post is
eye muscle correction.

So, what is eye muscle correction?
The levator palpebrae superioris and the Müller muscle
are two muscles that play an important role in opening
the eyes.
Eye muscle correction is a procedure that improves the
strength used to open the eyes by tying and shortening
these two muscles or tendons.
It is commonly chosen by people who are concerned
about weak eyelid-lifting strength or sleepy-looking
eyes that seem dull and tired.
So why do eyes commonly called “sleepy eyes”
occur?
The cause is ptosis.

Ptosis refers to a condition in which drooping eyelids
partially cover the field of vision. If the eyelid covers
the black pupil by more than 2 mm, others will perceive
the eyes as sleepy-looking.
That is why people around you often say you look sleepy
or blank.
Most importantly, some people may feel their forehead
tensing when they open their eyes themselves,
and feeling that the field of vision is cramped when
gazing forward can also be due to ptosis.
Finally, eyelashes poking the eyes can also be a cause
of ptosis.
One of the solutions for ptosis is
exactly today’s topic: eye muscle correction.
Eye muscle correction is divided into two types depending
on the correction technique: non-incisional eye muscle
correction and incisional eye muscle correction.

Ainik’s non-incisional eye muscle correction uses a buried
suture method to tie and shorten the Müller muscle without
making an incision, so the surgery time is short and the
recovery period, which patients often worry about, is also
short. This makes it a highly satisfying correction method.
Also, because it is eye muscle correction, many people
worry about it loosening over time.
At Ainik, the number of fixation points is made dense
during eye muscle correction, helping maintain the same
line as the original even over time without loosening.
Above all, because the muscle is corrected only with points
rather than through an incision, there is less concern about
bleeding or swelling. Unlike incisional eye muscle correction,
there is no need to worry about scars, which is why many
people prefer non-incisional eye muscle correction.
The biggest advantage of non-incisional eye muscle
correction is that even without surgery,
it can improve the eyes into a clearer and more natural look.
However, if non-incisional eye muscle correction is performed
without proper consultation, the incised area may loosen,
the points may be placed too tightly or not appropriately,
or you may not achieve the eye shape you want.
When choosing a clinic for non-incisional eye muscle
correction, it is important to carefully check not only
years of experience in eye surgery but also the technical
skill unique to that clinic.

Ainik Plastic Surgery
has performed more than 5,000 eye surgeries and revision
surgeries, and with its proprietary technology for which
it has completed a trademark application with the Korean
Intellectual Property Office, it helps patients feel satisfied
with their eyes after surgery and eye correction.
In addition, for non-incisional eye muscle correction,
customized surgery is performed after carefully checking
each patient’s eye condition, the condition of the eye
muscles and skin, and the desired eye design through
consultation.

Today, we looked at non-incisional eye muscle correction,
as well as why it is important to carefully research a
clinic when choosing one.
Do not take eye muscle correction lightly just because it
is simpler than surgery; please carefully judge whether
the clinic is the right fit for you before making your choice.
Then, this was Ainik, as if you were beautiful from the start.
Thank you.
