Hello, this is iNique.
Recently, as perceptions of 'plastic surgery' have become more mainstream,
it is now seen not as something heavy or burdensome,
but as one of the means for improving appearance.

Above all, in social life or
in the process of forming relationships with others,
having a more positive impression and a neat appearance
can be advantageous in many situations.
In addition, the changes gained from improved appearance
are not limited to how others see you,
but can also increase self-satisfaction and confidence,
positively affecting your overall attitude and expression in daily life.
For this reason, many people consider plastic surgery
for the purpose of 'self-satisfaction.'

In particular, double eyelid surgery changes the eye shape,
which is a key element of facial expression, no less than the nose.
With the double eyelid line alone,
the eyes can look clearer, and an overall improvement in image can be expected.
This is because as an additional crease is created on the eyelid,
the eyes become more striking,
and the eye shape itself can appear more distinct.

Above all, compared with other plastic surgery methods,
it is relatively simple,
which is why it has remained steadily popular from the past to the present.
As time has passed and surgical methods have advanced,
a variety of double eyelid surgery types have become available.

As such, there are many types of double eyelid surgery,
and you may wonder which method suits you best.
Today, iNique will explain the types of double eyelid surgery
and the criteria for choosing a method.

Double eyelid surgery is generally
divided into two methods:
suture method and incisional method.
The suture method is what we commonly call the 'pinch' method,
and it works by creating adhesion points without incision
to fix the double eyelid line.
The incisional method is a surgical approach
that creates the line by making an incision,
and compared with the suture method,
it can create a relatively more defined look.
Rather than saying one is better than the other,
it is important to choose based on factors such as your own eyelids,
skin condition, and whether you have ptosis.

Next, I would also like to explain the types of double eyelid surgery.
The methods currently performed at iNique include
smooth incisional method, high-density suture method,
and fat-removal suture method.
Below, we will guide you in more detail through the features
and techniques of each type of double eyelid surgery.

The high-density suture method,
one of the methods of double eyelid surgery,
forms adhesion points at appropriate locations,
just like the general suture method,
to complete a natural double eyelid line.
However, its distinguishing feature is that it strengthens fixation
more than the existing suture method,
compensating for the tendency of the suture method to loosen.
For this, iNique applies a 10-point fixation method
to keep the line finer and more stable,
and even in cases with strong eyelid-opening force or frequent eye use,
the maintenance of the double eyelid tends to be high.

Also, because it is performed without incision,
the recovery burden is smaller and swelling and bruising are relatively less,
so it is classified as a procedure that allows a quicker return to daily life.

Second, the fat-removal suture method
is recommended more for people with a lot of eye fat
when performing the high-density suture method
explained earlier.
When fat and soft tissue are excessively distributed in the eyelids,
it can create a generally stuffy and heavy impression
regardless of the actual size of the eyes,
and even after double eyelid surgery,
the line may not appear clearly,
which can make the result feel incomplete.

In such cases, along with double eyelid surgery,
it is advisable to adjust the thickness of the eyelids
by selectively removing unnecessary fat and some soft tissue
through a minimal incision of about 4 mm.
This process improves the transmission of the eyelid-opening force
and increases the clarity of the line,
allowing for a more distinct and balanced eye shape.

The third type of double eyelid surgery
is the smooth incisional method.
This method creates a clean and natural result
while reducing the feeling of a line that looks simply pinched.
When fixing the line, it uses a generous number of points,
about 7 to 9, to create a neat line,
and areas with a high chance of loosening
are finished with triple fixation for strong support.

Since there are many different types of double eyelid surgery,
you may find yourself unsure of which one to choose.
What matters in making the choice is to first assess
the condition of your eyelids, skin, and fat through a consultation,
and then decide accordingly.

Thank you.
