No smoking / no drinking Smoking can increase the likelihood of postoperative complications, and because it slows the flow of blood, recovery may also be delayed. Therefore, it is recommended to refrain from smoking for 2 weeks before surgery.

Refraining from alcohol is also essential. If the alcohol level in the blood is high, it may interact poorly with various medications, so it is recommended to avoid alcohol starting 2 to 3 days before plastic surgery.

Fasting It is recommended to fast at least 3 hours before the day of surgery and maintain an empty stomach. (Fasting time may vary depending on the type of anesthesia.)

Stop taking medications before plastic surgery Taking herbal medicine, aspirin, hormone medications, birth control pills, and similar drugs may reduce hemostatic function and lead to more severe bruising after surgery. Therefore, before surgery, inform the hospital about any medications you normally take, and it is best to stop taking them with enough time before the operation.

Check your menstrual period before surgery For women, it is best to avoid the menstrual period when planning plastic surgery.

It is not impossible to have surgery during your period, but more bleeding may occur during the procedure, and bruising and swelling after surgery may be greater. So we recommend planning the surgery schedule to avoid your menstrual period.

Remove nail polish During surgery, oxygen and carbon dioxide saturation in the body is judged by looking at the fingernails, so for surgeries performed under anesthesia, nail polish must be removed.

Also, light clothing is recommended on the day of surgery. In particular, avoid clothing that puts pressure on the surgical area, and for facial surgery, it is also helpful to prepare a hat, sunglasses, and a mask.
