After thread lifting
Can you resume daily life right away?
Hello.
This is Globi Plastic Surgery Clinic.
Thread lifting is known as a relatively low-burden
lifting procedure,
so many people are curious about
when they can return to daily life after the procedure.
In fact, thread lifting is performed by
inserting medical threads under the skin
without incisions,
so the recovery period is generally short.
However,
differences may occur depending on
each person's skin condition and the
scope of the procedure.
In this post, we will focus on
when daily life is possible after thread lifting
and what precautions to keep in mind.

✅ Recovery process after thread lifting
Right after thread lifting,
slight swelling and a feeling of tightness
may appear, mainly around the area
where the threads were inserted.
This is a natural process in which
the skin and tissues respond to the
procedure stimulus,
and in most cases it gradually eases over time.
Even immediately after the procedure,
walking and simple daily activities are possible,
but actions that put a lot of strain on the face
require caution at the beginning.
Generally, if there is no major discomfort,
light outings or work are possible even on the day
of the procedure,
and in many cases most daily activities can be
resumed smoothly starting the next day.

✅ When can you return to daily life?
The timing for returning to daily life after thread lifting
can be divided into stages as follows.
Day of the procedure
Light daily activities are possible,
careful washing of the face and basic makeup should be done
cautiously according to the medical staff's guidance
Within 1–3 days
This is the period when swelling and tightness
gradually ease,
and office work or light outings are possible
After 1 week
Most swelling and bruising improve,
and you can return to your usual lifestyle pattern
However, depending on the individual,
the duration of swelling or bruising may vary,
and if the procedure area is large or a large number
of threads were used,
a little more recovery time may be needed.

✅ Actions to avoid immediately after thread lifting
For a faster recovery and stable results after thread lifting,
it is best to avoid the following actions
for a certain period.
✔ Pressing or rubbing the procedure area strongly
✔ Excessive facial expressions, opening the mouth wide to laugh or yawn
✔ Drinking alcohol, smoking, sauna, or jjimjilbang use
✔ Strenuous exercise or activities that shake the head vigorously
Especially in the early stage after the procedure,
this is an important period for the threads to settle,
so it is best to avoid excessive stimulation.

✅ How long do swelling and tightness last?
Swelling and tightness after thread lifting are
fairly common reactions.
Generally, swelling gradually improves within
3–7 days, and tightness or soreness may be felt for about
1–2 weeks as the threads adapt to the skin tissue.
These sensations naturally decrease over time
and rarely cause major disruption to daily life.

✅ After thread lifting,
care methods that help with faster recovery
To help recovery after the procedure,
the following care may be useful.
✔ Cold compresses to manage swelling during the first 2–3 days
✔ Adequate hydration and rest
✔ Minimize stimulation of the procedure area
✔ Follow the post-care instructions provided by the medical staff
Proper care can help speed up recovery
and also positively affect how stably
the thread lifting results are maintained.

✅ Cases where it may be necessary to adjust your schedule
for thread lifting
In the following cases, it is a good idea to leave
some extra room in your schedule after the procedure.
✔ If an important photo shoot or event is approaching
✔ If you have skin that is sensitive to swelling or bruising
✔ If a large number of threads were inserted or multiple areas were treated at the same time

In such cases, it is helpful to discuss the schedule
and recovery period thoroughly during the consultation.
Thread lifting is a procedure with relatively quick recovery,
and in many cases, you can return to daily life right after the procedure.
However, since swelling and tightness may appear temporarily
immediately after the procedure,
it is important to avoid overexertion
and allow enough recovery time.
Because recovery speed can vary depending on
each person's skin condition and the scope of the procedure,
we recommend 충분한 consultation before the procedure
to help plan the schedule accurately.
