Hello.
At Globi Plastic Surgery Clinic, we perform each and every nose surgery
with the same care as if it were being done for our own family,

When thinking about rhinoplasty,
there is a term you are bound to come across at least once.
That term is “3D rhinoplasty.”
But when you actually look into it, there is so much information,
and because the details vary depending on who is speaking,
people often end up with an even bigger question:
“What exactly is 3D rhinoplasty?”
Have you ever thought something like this?
I honestly don’t really know how it’s different
from regular rhinoplasty.
There are too many reviews saying the results were disappointing,
so I can’t make up my mind.
They say the outcome varies greatly depending on where you get it done,
but how am I supposed to set that standard?
I wrote this for anyone with those concerns.
What 3D rhinoplasty actually is,
what is essential for a natural and long-lasting result,
and what we have honestly felt ourselves—
I’ll explain it as clearly as possible.
If you read to the end, you’ll be able to take away,
one by one, the key points you should check before deciding.
3D rhinoplasty,
you have to start with the concept to see the result
3D Rhinoplasty
When looking into rhinoplasty,
you often come across the term “3D rhinoplasty,”
but to be honest, this is not a standardized medical term.
Rather, it is more accurate to understand it as the concept of creating a nose
that does not just look good from the front,
but has a natural three-dimensional shape from any angle.
But there is something many people miss here.

Even if the nose looks straight and raised from the front,
there are quite a few cases where it gives a completely different impression
when viewed from the side or from below.
One of the things we often hear in consultations is:
“My front-view photos look fine,
but I don’t understand why the side view always looks awkward.”
And this is not simply because of the camera angle.

In such cases, the cause is usually the nasal tip.
The alar cartilage that determines the shape of the nasal tip
is a paired structure, with left and right sides.
Therefore, if the position, elasticity, or left-right balance of this cartilage is even slightly off,
the nasal tip may appear to twist to one side,
or the nose may look asymmetrical when viewed from below.
This is not something that is automatically solved
just by placing an implant on the bridge.

That is why we spend the most time on this part during consultation.
We do not simply decide on a surgical direction
based only on the photos you want.
First, we carefully assess the condition of the nasal tip cartilage,
the thickness of the skin,
and the overall angles of the current nose.
Only after checking step by step whether the desired shape can be achieved,
and whether it will still look natural from the side and at an oblique angle,
do we establish the surgical plan.
It is a process that takes time,
but we believe it is essential for a more precise result.
The nose is not an area where it is easy to change direction once the shape is established.
The real reason implant selection matters in rhinoplasty
3D Rhinoplasty
Another factor that affects the result just as much as the design is
how well the implant fits your nasal bone.
When thinking about rhinoplasty,
many people look into implant types,
but in fact, this is the first thing you should check
before material or brand.

Everyone’s nasal bone shape is different.
Even if they look similar from the front,
when viewed on CT,
the thickness, height, and curves of the nasal bone are all different,
and in many cases the nasal bone is also slightly twisted to one side.
In fact, when analyzing preoperative CT scans for nose surgery,
we often meet people whose bones are much more deviated than expected,
even though there is no visible sign from the outside.
However, implants are basically manufactured in standardized shapes.
No matter how good the implant is,
if it is not precisely matched to the actual contours of your nasal bone,
a tiny gap may form between the bone and the implant after insertion.
That gap can later become the starting point of a problem.

That is why it is important to first check the actual shape of the nasal bone with CT.
For example, if you try to change only the external appearance
while leaving a deviated septum uncorrected,
it can lead to a result where the alignment of the entire nose looks off.
These issues are difficult to identify in advance without CT,
and if they are not reflected in the plan,
the entire surgical direction can change.
This is also why our “3D fitting rhinoplasty” places the CT analysis process
at the starting point of planning.
We first secure 3D data of the nasal bone,
then design and create an implant that fits it.

After surgery, we check once more with CT
whether the implant is fitting precisely against the nasal bone.
Of course, this process is more cumbersome
and takes more time.
But since the nose is a part of the body where, once the result is made, it is not easy to reverse,
we believe this is not something to cut back on.
Even if you do not choose our clinic, when looking into rhinoplasty,
we recommend that you be sure to check
“how precisely the clinic analyzes your nasal bone before surgery.”
If you are considering 3D rhinoplasty,
you are probably looking into various sources of information even now.
We understand very well that this is not an easy process.
The reason we wrote this article is simple:
we wanted to reduce, even a little,
the number of people who make a decision without enough information and later regret it.
Good results ultimately begin with good preparation.
We hope today’s article was of some help in your decision-making.
