Even if you search while considering thread lifting,
you may find yourself thinking,
‘Aren’t they all pretty much the same anyway?’
There are so many reviews,
but it is difficult to know what the ‘clear criteria for choosing’
to trust with your face actually are.
In fact, even though thread lifting is the same procedure,
the results can vary greatly depending on where you get it done.
That is because satisfaction differs dramatically depending on
the type and number of threads, the design of the insertion path,
and how post-procedure care is carried out.
So in this post, before choosing a clinic,
I’d like to point out two criteria you should know first.
I’m writing this with the hope that you can avoid the situation
where you spend a significant amount of money for yourself
but do not get the result you wanted.
Please take just 3 minutes.
The first criterion that determines the result
— the type and number of threads

When looking into thread lifting,
you will notice that prices vary widely from clinic to clinic.
To put it simply, this difference is mostly due to
the type and number of threads used.

Basically, thread lifting is a procedure in which medical threads
designed with strong cog-like projections are inserted close to
the SMAS layer of the skin to reposition sagging tissue.
Enough good-quality threads must be used to create lifting force,
but sometimes clinics reduce costs by using lower-quality threads
or inserting far fewer than the necessary number.
The degree of sagging varies from person to person,
but in general, about 5 to 10 threads per side, and in some cases up to 20,
should be used sufficiently to create satisfactory lifting force.
If the number is reduced simply to meet a low price,
you would inevitably feel that the effect is minimal.
And there is one more point I want to mention.

These days, most clinics use dissolvable threads made of PDO or PCL,
which can provide durability comparable to non-dissolvable threads.
In addition, because dissolvable threads are absorbed in the body,
they do not accumulate even if the procedure is done every year,
which is an advantage we consider important.
At Globi Plastic Surgery Clinic, during consultation,
we first check the degree of sagging and facial structure,
then explain the required type and number of threads first.
We talk about the cost afterward.
This is not to say you must come to us.
However, we do recommend checking first whether the clinic
gives a specific explanation of the type of threads and the recommended number
during consultation.
The other half that completes the result
— insertion path and aftercare

Even if the type and number of threads are chosen well, that is not the end.
Even if the same number of the same threads are inserted,
the result changes depending on how the insertion path is designed.
Yet this is something that is overlooked
more often than you might think.

Thread lifting originally developed in the West.
Because of that, early methods mainly focused on
pulling toward the side near the ear.
However, if this method is applied as is to Koreans,
who tend to have more developed cheekbones,
the tissue can shift sideways and create the opposite effect,
making the cheekbones look more prominent.
That is why Globi does not simply focus on pulling.
Instead, we prioritize individual path design that bypasses the cheekbone line.
Even if it is a bit cumbersome, we believe this step should not be skipped.

Aftercare continues from here as well.
No matter how skilled the procedure is,
temporary dimples or irregularities in the skin can still occur.
What matters is whether these are carefully corrected within
the 4-week golden window after the procedure.
If left alone, there is a risk that they may become fixed in that state.

Accordingly, at Globi Plastic Surgery Clinic,
we check your condition in person the next day after the procedure,
and we require you to visit again at the 4-week mark to correct
any remaining dimples or surface irregularities.
Of course, our method is not the only correct answer.
However, we recommend that you be sure to check before the procedure
whether the clinic designs the insertion path individually,
and how aftercare is handled.
Thread lifting is a procedure where how you receive it is just as important as where you receive it.
Only when you check all three together—the type and number of threads,
the insertion path design, and post-procedure care—can you come close to the result you want.
