In consultations for nose surgery,
there is one thing we hear most often.
I want it to look different,
but not like I had surgery.
Every time we hear that, we think to ourselves:
wanting those two things
at the same time is actually the hardest part.
And the concept that makes that possible
is the refined yet glamorous nose.
A refined yet glamorous nose
is a term that combines a natural nose and a glamorous nose.
It is easy to say, but difficult to realize in practice.
So today, we will explain in two ways
why a refined yet glamorous nose is difficult to design,
and how the balance point is determined.
If you read to the end,
you will have a much clearer idea of what you want.
Why a refined yet glamorous nose is difficult
Refined yet glamorous nose
People who hear about a refined yet glamorous nose for the first time
usually react like this.
Then if you just raise it naturally,
wouldn’t that work?'
That statement is half right and half wrong.

The point where naturalness and glamour clash
is exactly one place.
It is the starting point of the implant.
If the starting point is set too high,
the line from the forehead to the tip becomes more distinct,
and the three-dimensional effect increases.
But at that moment, the bridge of the nose stands out from the front,
and in profile, only the area between the eyebrows appears unusually sunken,
creating an artificial line
with the bridge of the nose standing alone and high.
This is the real meaning behind the feeling that it looks operated on.
On the other hand, if the starting point is set too low,
the three-dimensional effect is weak, and the change is not noticeable.
Somewhere between these two extremes
lies the balance point of a refined yet glamorous nose,
but finding that line is more difficult than it seems.

We meet quite a few people in consultations who say
that they clearly had surgery,
but it does not seem like anything has changed.
In most of these cases, the reason is that the starting point was designed too low,
so the change does not feel noticeable.
When an implant is inserted but does not feel higher,
it is far more often a problem with the starting point’s position
than with the thickness of the implant.

That is why we first listen to the height you want,
and then be sure to check the depth of the glabella area
and the degree of brow bone prominence.
Depending on these conditions, even when the same implant is used,
the position of the starting point that the patient perceives
can be completely different.
For people with well-developed brow bones,
the area between the eyebrows naturally appears recessed,
so even if the starting point is set slightly higher,
it does not feel artificial.
For people with little depression between the eyebrows,
the opposite is true: the design should use a lower starting point.
The starting point in nose surgery is not determined by a number,
but by its relationship with the facial structure.
The balance that creates a refined yet glamorous nose

Now for the second key point.
It is the slope of the tip of the nose.

No matter how well the glabella area is designed,
the overall impression changes depending on how the tip of the nose is finished.
To understand why, it helps to first know the concept of the nasal tip rotation angle.
The degree to which the tip of the nose points upward is called the rotation angle,
and when this angle rises slightly, a highlight zone forms at the highest point of the tip,
where the eye rests.
That highlight is the visual effect that makes the nose look three-dimensional.
If after surgery people say your impression has become brighter and more dimensional than before,
there is a high chance that this highlight zone has been properly formed.
On the other hand, if the rotation angle is too small,
the tip points downward and the nose can look long and heavy.
If it is too large,
the nostrils may become visible,
making it look like an upturned nose.

Refined yet glamorous nose
A refined yet glamorous nose should be designed within a precise range
where a highlight is created
but the nostrils are not visible.
When deciding the tip’s slope,
we first check the nose length and the degree of nostril visibility
to estimate the allowable range, and then determine the angle.
Height and slope are separate design elements,
and only when both are balanced together does the three-dimensional effect truly emerge.
A refined yet glamorous nose is neither a purely natural nose nor a purely glamorous nose.
It is a nose in which the two coexist harmoniously within one face.
For that to be possible, not just one height,
but the starting point and the slope must be designed together.
I hope you felt that through today’s post.
