When looking into thread lifting,
there is a word you are bound to come across at least once.
That word is ‘bruising.’
Some people become interested in the procedure itself,
but cannot make a decision because it is difficult to predict
how severe the bruising will be or how long it will last.
There are actually more people like that than you might think.
If you have an important event coming up,
or if you work in a service job and meet people every day,
bruising is naturally the biggest concern.
So today, we will explain why bruising occurs after thread lifting,
how much bruising can appear and how intense it can be,
and what care is needed to help it subside more quickly,
organized into two key points.
Please take just 3 minutes.
There are people who bruise more easily

In fact, after thread lifting,
there are people who hardly bruise at all.
On the other hand, even after the same procedure,
there are also people whose bruising remains dark enough
that going outside for several days feels burdensome.
You may think this difference is due to a procedure error
or lack of skill.
However, the cause is often in a completely different place.

The most decisive variable is
the medications or supplements being taken before the procedure.
Omega-3, vitamin E, ginkgo leaf extract,
and aspirin-type pain relievers all commonly contain ingredients
that inhibit platelet aggregation.
Platelet aggregation simply means
'the process by which blood at a wound site clots and stops bleeding.'
If this process does not proceed smoothly,
microbleeding continues,
and as a result, bruises become larger and darker.
So if you undergo the procedure while this function is weakened,
it takes longer for the bleeding to stop.
As a result, blood spreads extensively within the tissue,
and dark, widespread bruising appears on the skin surface.
Conversely,
if you take care of this part properly,
even if you undergo the same procedure,
your recovery can end much more lightly.

That is why, at Glovi, we thoroughly check
all medications and supplements being taken during the consultation stage.
In fact, if this part is not checked thoroughly in advance,
even if the doctor proceeds very carefully,
the recovery process can still produce different results.
As a rule, these ingredients should be stopped at least 1 to 2 weeks
before the procedure,
and if they are prescription medications,
do not stop them on your own.
Please be sure to consult the prescribing doctor first
before making a decision.
How should you care for bruising so it fades faster?

First, to explain how much bruising may appear,
it usually becomes most noticeable between the day after the procedure
and two days later, and then gradually fades
as it turns yellowish.
For most people, it subsides to a level that is
hardly visible to the naked eye within 1 to 2 weeks,
but for those with weak blood vessels or slower recovery,
it can last longer than 2 weeks.

And the most important time during this process is
the 72 hours immediately after the procedure.
If heat is applied during this period, the blood vessels expand,
which can widen the area of bleeding that has already begun to spread.
So it is best to avoid saunas, hot baths, and steam treatments.
On the other hand, cold compresses constrict blood vessels
and help prevent the bleeding from spreading further.
For up to 3 days after the procedure, applying a cold compress for 10 to 15 minutes,
then resting for 20 to 30 minutes, and repeating this consistently
can be helpful.

Sleeping posture also has a major effect on recovery.
If your head is lower than your heart,
blood flow tends to gather toward the face,
slowing the reduction of swelling and bruising,
so after the procedure, it is better to sleep with a pillow
higher than usual.
We recommend avoiding the prone position as much as possible
until 4 weeks later, when the threads have fully settled.
The same applies to activities that significantly increase your heart rate.
If blood pressure rises, capillary permeability increases,
which can cause bruising that was already subsiding to spread again,

so vigorous exercise is best resumed gradually after 4 weeks.
At our clinic, we check recovery status the day after the procedure,
and we also review the progress at the 4-week mark.
At that time, if bruising or swelling remains,
or if dimpling is observed, we take the necessary measures.
If these measures are insufficient,
a temporary issue can remain as is and become adhered,
so we consider this just as important as the procedure itself.
If bruising has been making you hesitate about thread lifting,
I hope today’s information helps you make a decision, even a little.

to recovery afterward, feel free to contact us.
