After a thread lifting procedure,
what comes first, even before your expectations,
is swelling.
When you look in the mirror, your face feels unfamiliar,
different from yesterday,
and it is also the time when worries quietly arise,
such as, "Will this really go back to normal?"
Swelling is a natural part of the recovery process after a procedure,
but even after receiving the same treatment,
there are reasons why recovery speeds differ.
In this article, for those who want to return to daily life quickly after thread lifting,
we have organized 3 key care tips that you can start right after the procedure.
Please focus for just 3 minutes.
The first 72 hours after the procedure,
posture and cold compresses determine recovery speed

After the procedure, you just go home and lie down to rest, right?
This is one of the most common things people say right after the procedure,
but in fact, this is one of the most common reasons swelling gets worse.
Swelling is a natural reaction that occurs when fluid and inflammatory substances accumulate between tissues,
but
the problem is that in a lying position, this fluid spreads much more easily across the face.
On the other hand, if you stay sitting or standing,
thanks to gravity, the fluid naturally moves downward,
reducing the amount that pools in the face.
From the day of the procedure, consciously keep your upper body upright,
and
simply sleeping with your pillow one level higher than usual
can make a noticeable difference in the amount of swelling you see the next morning.
Along with posture, one thing you must take care of within 72 hours is a cold compress.
This is because the cold temperature constricts blood vessels
and helps prevent fluid from leaking out of the tissues.
But there is a crucial point that many people miss here.

With cold compresses, timing is more important than the method.
The basic approach is to repeat
"about 10 to 15 minutes" of cold compresses
followed by "20 to 30 minutes" of rest,
but after 3 days from the procedure,
you should stop cold compresses and switch to warm compresses.
In the beginning, the goal is to constrict blood vessels
and prevent fluid leakage,
but after 3 days,
you should change your strategy to promote blood circulation
and help pooled fluid be absorbed more quickly.
Many people continue cold compresses for more than a week
because they do not know how long they should do them,
but if you miss the right time to switch, recovery may actually be delayed,
so please remember this.
As swelling goes down,
this habit changes the result
Swelling After Thread Lifting
The swelling has gone down a lot, so it's okay now, right?
About a week after the procedure, when the swelling has subsided to some extent,
it is natural to relax.
However, I always say that this is actually the period
that requires the most caution.
It takes about 4 weeks for the barbs on the thread to become firmly fixed to the skin tissue after thread lifting.
Just because the swelling has gone down on the outside
does not mean recovery is complete on the inside.
If certain lifestyle habits are repeated during this period,
the swelling that had gone down may come back,
and recovery speed will also noticeably slow down.

Among these, the easiest thing to overlook after the procedure is diet.
Foods high in sodium draw water into the body
and create an environment where fluid can pool again between tissues.
If you feel that the swelling is lasting unusually long,
it is often helpful to first check your usual sodium intake.
Exercise is similar.
When you exercise, blood flow increases and blood vessels expand.
During this process, fluid may flow back into the tissues.
Therefore, activities such as running or strength training,
which significantly raise your heart rate,
should be postponed until at least 4 weeks later for safety.

And what many people miss most easily
is sleeping posture.
If you have a habit of sleeping on your stomach,
you should be especially careful.
When pressure is concentrated on the face,
it can interfere with thread fixation
and cause the swelling that had been going down to return.
For 4 weeks, we recommend consciously maintaining a face-up position.
In particular, if you usually snore or have sleep apnea and sleep on your side,
it is a good idea to discuss this with your doctor in advance
before the procedure.
Just as important as reducing swelling quickly
is not creating swelling again during recovery.
Swelling is a process everyone experiences after thread lifting,
but the recovery speed clearly differs depending on how it is managed.
Our principle is to objectively disclose the information patients must know
and the possibility of side effects.
If you want an accurate recovery plan tailored to your own case before the procedure,
or if you want to reduce trial and error caused by incorrect information,
