Hello, this is Park Hyung-seok from Nuneopyo Plastic Surgery.
There is a topic that Lutronic and Cynosure and our clinic are researching together...
That is, when a radiofrequency procedure called Serp can be performed after a facelift, and how effective it is.
If thread lifting or radiofrequency lifting was done before a facelift...
In the six months before a facelift,
the common opinion among experienced doctors is to avoid thread lifting or radiofrequency lifting.
Thread lifting can interfere with surgery because of the barbs on the threads,
and lifting lasers can cause the skin and SMAS to stick together, making dissection difficult.
In particular, when operating on someone who has had frequent radiofrequency treatments over many sessions,
even the smoke pattern during Bovie dissection is different...
This shows that if a person has had many procedures,
it really can interfere with facelift surgery.
When can laser lifting be done after a facelift?
Lifting surgery can tighten the SMAS or sagging skin,
but in my experience, aging of the skin itself and reduced elasticity need to be improved with skin procedures...
In the end, for those who want to maximize results by improving both facial sagging and skin elasticity,
they have no choice but to combine surgery and procedures.
So after a facelift,
when can procedures like Ulthera or Thermage be done?

Appearance immediately after Serp

After Serp, the jawline volume decreased and the front cheek volume improved
Many doctors recommend waiting 6 months for this question.
Because during the early recovery period after surgery, when the small blood vessels have not yet recovered,
applying heat to the tissue with a lifting laser may
actually hinder blood circulation.
However!
There is no academic report supporting this claim!
So Nuneopyo Plastic Surgery decided to conduct this study together with Lutronic!

Serp
Examples of Serp applied to patients in the early stage after facelift
Below is a case in which Serp treatment was performed on only one side of the face,
with consent obtained from a client regarding the purpose, effectiveness, and side effects of the study.

6 weeks before and after facelift surgery
This client was 6 weeks after a facelift,
and the Serp treatment was performed 1 month after surgery.

Immediately after 50,000 J of Serp was applied only to the left side of the face
For radiofrequency lifting to show results,
it takes 4 to 6 weeks for collagen to be synthesized,
so the image above is immediately after the procedure,
and no major difference can yet be seen.
Instead, the left side where Serp was performed
feels slightly more adhered,
but

The pattern of skin flow
It is observed that the wrinkles and skin pattern on the face are lifted upward in the direction of lifting.
Even though less than 300 Serp shots were used,
more than 50,000 J of energy was delivered thanks to Nuneopyo’s know-how^^
Below is another facelift client,
showing the right side immediately after Serp lifting

52,000 J with 300 Serp shots on the right side
Again, you can see that the skin texture is directed upward.

This person also received 52,000 J of energy with 300 shots.
Considering that it was performed on only one side of the face, this is by no means a small amount of energy.
Safety of Serp
Even though blood flow recovery after surgery is not yet complete,
why is it possible to safely perform Serp with such a large amount of energy?

Spider-pattern tip
The answer lies in the efficient cooling tip.

Serp tip temperature sensor
The spider-pattern tip contains as many as five temperature sensors,

A regular tip may raise concern about edge burns
and this technology can help prevent excessive heat
from accumulating in a specific area.

Appearance of the spider-pattern tip viewed with a thermal imaging camera
Thanks to these excellent cooling and safety devices,
it seems this may be the secret to safely receiving radiofrequency treatment
from the early recovery period after facelift surgery.

343 shots and 52,500 J on the left side only

It will still take some time before the results of Serp fully appear,
but it seems to show safety beyond my expectations,
so I’m posting this early with excitement.
Next time, I’ll share an update along with additional follow-up results from the clients.
At Nuneopyo, for more efficient lifting,
we run a program that combines Cynosure Genesis Toning Laser and Serp, so
