Hello, this is Yonsei Grida Dental Clinic near Deungchon Station.
Today, through the case of a woman in her 20s who recently visited Yonsei Grida Dental Clinic,
we would like to explain the importance of regular checkups and appropriate treatment.
Is it okay not to visit the dentist if you do not have any pain?
No, it is not.
Tooth and gum diseases often progress without any significant pain in their early stages.
Even when they appear clean on the outside, tartar and substances that cause inflammation may have accumulated inside or between the teeth,
and leaving this untreated can lead to swollen or bleeding gums and gradually weakened bone.
Therefore, even before you experience discomfort, regular oral examinations and
X-rays can help check areas that cannot be seen, and
when necessary, receiving gum treatment is the most important preventive method for keeping your teeth healthy for a long time.

Many people do not fully recognize the need for dental care until their teeth are damaged or they experience pain.
In particular, when there is no noticeable pain, it is easy to assume that there are no problems with one’s oral health,
but tooth and gum diseases often progress without clear symptoms in their early stages.
If you do not visit the dentist regularly, foreign substances can accumulate not only on the tooth surfaces
but also deep in areas near the bone,
which may gradually damage the surrounding tissues.
Tartar, a hard foreign substance that accumulates inside the mouth,
is difficult to remove through brushing alone,
so it must be removed through regular professional care.
Even if the teeth appear clean on the outside,
if foreign substances remain beneath the gums where they cannot be seen,
this can eventually lead to swollen or bleeding gums.
Therefore, even if you do not feel any discomfort yourself,
making a habit of visiting the dental clinic near Deungchon Station regularly for checkups
is the most basic yet important preventive measure
for preserving your permanent teeth in good health for a long time.
Gum treatment goes beyond simply scraping foreign substances from the tooth surfaces;
it involves thoroughly removing substances that cause inflammation
from deep inside the gums.
If you delay visiting the dentist and leave the condition untreated,
it can develop into a chronic disease in which the bone supporting the gums gradually deteriorates,
so it is advisable to receive treatment when necessary, based on an accurate diagnosis.

Today, through the case of a woman in her 20s who recently visited our dental clinic near Deungchon Station,
we would like to explain the importance of regular checkups and appropriate treatment.
The patient visited our clinic after the upper front tooth broke while she was eating.
She experienced temporary sensitivity on the day the tooth fractured,
but the pain had subsided by the time she visited us.
The patient said that she had never received dental care in her life,
and she was extremely afraid and worried about visiting the dentist.
First, we performed X-rays and an intraoral examination to assess her condition carefully.
The examination confirmed that the enamel along the edge of the upper first front tooth had fractured.

In addition, because she had never visited a dentist before, a considerable amount of thick tartar had accumulated not only on the tooth surfaces
but also throughout the areas above and below the gums.

To restore the patient’s oral health, she needed both cosmetic treatment to restore the broken front tooth
and scaling and gum treatment to remove foreign substances inside and outside the gums.
However, because this was the patient’s first dental visit and she was experiencing extreme fear,
we planned her treatment with the goal of reducing her psychological burden rather than proceeding immediately with more demanding treatment on the first day.
To help her develop a positive impression of dental care,
our dental clinic near Deungchon Station first performed relatively simple and minimally uncomfortable scaling on the day of her initial examination,
and cosmetically restored the broken upper front tooth that same day using composite resin, a material similar in color to natural teeth.

By directly comparing and explaining the condition of her mouth before and after treatment using camera images and X-rays,
we reassured the patient so that she could understand the need for dental visits and let go of her vague fears.
After confirming that she had adapted to some extent to the environment through her first visit to our dental clinic near Deungchon Station,
we established a step-by-step gum treatment plan to improve her overall oral environment.

We performed the first gum treatment on the upper and lower right side of the patient’s mouth,
removing tartar and inflamed tissue deeply embedded inside the gums.

Fortunately, thanks to the trust established during her first visit,
the patient was able to undergo the treatment process without significant difficulty.

A week later, we continued with gum treatment on the upper and lower left side of her mouth.

As a result, we found a small amount of tartar remaining deep in the gums,
and thoroughly removed the remaining foreign substances from the area to support the patient’s complete gum recovery.

The patient adapted very well to the treatment each time she returned,
and even left positive feedback saying that she was satisfied with the process.
At Yonsei Grida Dental Clinic, we carefully consider every emotional change patients may experience,
from the moment they open the dental clinic door and enter until the moment their treatment is complete.
Because we deeply understand the feelings of people visiting a dentist for the first time or experiencing significant fear,
we carefully adjust the order and intensity of treatment, prioritizing each individual’s level of adaptation and psychological state.
We believe that our responsibility is not only to provide a diagnosis and treatment best suited to each patient’s oral condition,
but also to take care of them so that they can feel at ease emotionally.
We will continue to provide only the treatment that is truly necessary, without unnecessary treatment,
and promise to devote ourselves to every appointment so that all patients can entrust us with their oral health with confidence.
