A Stronger and More Stable Structure

Accordingly, implants with small or medium diameters have traditionally presented strength-related challenges compared with large-diameter implants. A small-diameter implant must be used when the bone is narrow, while a wide-diameter implant can be used when sufficient bone is available. However, in actual clinical practice, dentists often encounter alveolar bone with an intermediate width. In such cases, a medium-diameter implant is used. In particular, with medium-diameter implants, the thickness of the upper metal portion could become thinner because of the internal connection structure. Although rare, this could potentially lead to complications such as deformation or fracture.

Using an implant with a larger diameter unconditionally may require additional bone grafting surgery, which could make treatment planning more challenging.

The newly released KS implant has improved internal structures to increase strength. It was designed to enable more stable treatment even when a medium-sized implant must be used because the bone is not sufficiently wide. This is expected to help improve long-term stability.

Improved Surgical Speed and Primary Stability

One of the most important factors in implant surgery is how firmly the implant is fixed immediately after placement.

The KS System was developed with improved drill and implant designs to help shorten surgical time while increasing primary stability. Primary stability is especially important when bone density is low or the available bone volume is insufficient. The system was designed to allow more stable placement even in these cases, making it applicable in a variety of clinical situations.
