This week was especially full of academic events.
It was a week that reminded me once again that living as a doctor means continuing to learn and change myself while treating others.

On Tuesday, July 15, at the Neoptide Expert Symposium, Dr. Kim Ji-hyun of Yonsei Midain Clinic and Dr. Kim Hyeong-seok of Jamshil Maxwell Dermatology gave lectures on the ingredients of the product.
New hair loss treatment ingredients always attract attention.
As I listened to the questions and answers exchanged during the lecture, many thoughts came to mind about how they might actually be applied.
Each attempt to preserve hair follicles and improve the scalp environment was interesting in its own way.

On Wednesday, July 16, there was the monthly Botox, filler, and thread meeting.
Dr. Lee Young-seop shared his own procedural know-how along with information about a new botulinum toxin, CKD’s Timbers.
It did not stop at simply explaining the characteristics of the drug.
The lecture included the idea that treatment should be considered in a way that preserves both the patient’s facial expression and function.
As someone working in the hair loss field, I found myself imagining future treatment scenes and thinking about how the use of botulinum toxin could be developed further.

On Thursday, July 17, I attended the Non-incisional Hair Transplant Research Group.
Dr. Bae Sang-yeon of Mobinchi spoke about a method of reducing pain during hair transplantation using botulinum toxin,
Dr. Shin Han-jong of Moderham talked about a technique for transplanting paired hair follicles,
and Dr. Oh Won-seok of Vue Plastic Surgery presented hair loss treatment using hair follicle stem cells.
Although the topics were different, everyone was struggling to find better methods within the small field of hair.
On the way home, my laptop bag felt oddly heavy.
Perhaps it was because it was filled with so much new content and so many thoughts.
Suddenly, I had this thought.
That so many people are taking the time to learn from one another in order to preserve even a single strand of someone’s hair.
That fact somehow warmed my heart.
