Hello,
When consulting about thread lifting, one of the most common questions is:
"Doctor, what kind of threads are used?"
In fact, there are many different types of threads used in thread lifting,
and their purposes and effects also vary somewhat.
So today, I’ll explain the main types of threads used at Just Plastic Surgery Clinic and their characteristics.
✔️ PDO, PLLA, PCL – What are the differences?
The threads used for thread lifting are absorbable threads,
and absorbable threads come in various types depending on the material, with the following three types being the most commonly used.
🧵 1. PDO (Polydioxanone)
This is the oldest type of thread, and it is mainly used for lifting + collagen induction.
Its absorption period is about 6 months,
and it can generally be used even for people with thin or sensitive skin.
🧵 2. PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic Acid)
Absorption takes about 12 months or more,
and this type strongly stimulates collagen production.
Silhouette Soft is a representative PLLA thread.
🧵 3. PCL (Polycaprolactone)
This is a thread that has recently been getting attention, and its absorption period is the longest at 18–24 months.
It helps with lifting effects, natural-looking volume, and improved skin elasticity.
The Peach Silhouette lifting used at our clinic is also in this category.

✔️ This is how it is used at Just Plastic Surgery Clinic
Depending on the patient’s skin condition and the areas that need lifting,
we combine different thread types and characteristics.
For example)

✓ If there is sagging across the entire face: Peach Silhouette (PCL) + Mint Thread (PDO)

✓ If there is concern about hollowing in the cheekbone area or the front cheek: PLLA thread that can create volume

✓ If you only want to refine the jawline: sometimes only thin, strong PDO threads are used
In other words, rather than trying to address every area with a single thread,
the key to achieving better results is
combining the characteristics and functions of each thread well.

Next time, we’ll cover another question that always comes up in thread lifting consultations!
"How many threads are inserted?"
I’ll provide a detailed explanation.
