Hello,
I am Director Lim Seong-yoon, a board-certified plastic surgeon at Just Plastic Surgery.
Recently, as interest in anti-aging has increased,
one of the questions I often receive during consultations is:
“Can I get Ulthera or Thermage together with thread lifting?”
Today, I will explain whether machine lifting (Ulthera, Thermage)
and thread lifting can be done together,
as well as the sequence and precautions involved.
✔️ It is possible to combine them. However, the order and conditions are important
Thread lifting and Ulthera·Thermage
work in different ways,
but they are a combination that can create a synergistic effect when performed together.

✔️ Here is how we guide patients at Just Plastic Surgery
✅ Laser first → Thread lifting possible on the same day

At our clinic,
📌 after first performing Ulthera or Thermage,
📌 we can continue with thread lifting on the same day.
By stimulating the skin’s internal elasticity first with machine lifting,
and then inserting threads shortly after, the skin response can be better and recovery faster.
This is actually a combination many people choose,
and it is a pairing with a very high level of satisfaction.
⚠️ If thread lifting is done first → laser should be done after 1 month

On the other hand,
if you have thread lifting first,
we recommend waiting at least 4 weeks (1 month) before laser treatment.
The reason is as follows:
It takes time for the threads to settle and stabilize,
and if radiofrequency or ultrasound stimulation is given before that,
it may accelerate thread absorption, which could reduce how long the effect lasts.
✔️ If combining treatments, this is recommended for
Those who want not only a lifting effect, but also improvement in skin texture, elasticity, and pores
Those who want to extend the duration of thread lifting results
Middle-aged patients who have both sagging and reduced skin elasticity
✔️ Combined procedures are also planned with 1:1 customization
At our clinic,
👆 considering skin thickness, elasticity, fat amount, tissue position, and more
👆 we precisely design and guide you through the type of thread and laser, the procedure order, and the timing.
Also, after Ulthera or Thermage,
📌 we recommend soothing care and a collagen booster together
so that skin reactions can recover quickly
and good results can be maintained for a longer time.

Next time,
we will answer the question:
“Can surgery such as lower eyelid fat repositioning or double eyelid surgery also be done at the same time as thread lifting?”
We will explain the criteria and precautions for combining surgery and procedures.
So far,
this has been everything about anti-aging! This was Director Lim Seong-yoon, a board-certified plastic surgeon at Just Plastic Surgery. Thank you.
