If you are reading this, I think you are someone who wants a lift but cannot easily make a decision because you are afraid of facelift scars or side effects. In actual consultations, many people tell me the same concern.
I am a board-certified plastic surgeon with 21 years of experience, and I specialized in microsurgery. I have personally performed more than 100 facelift surgeries. Even so, I would like to honestly share my story about why I now focus on thread lifting.

- What I felt while performing facelifts
A facelift is definitely a surgery with powerful results. But after surgery, scars and the changes around the area in front of the ear sometimes felt somewhat unnatural to me personally.
Also, in many cases, I judged that a mini facelift did not differ much from thread lifting. In fact, I often saw people who, after some time following a facelift, wanted thread lifting again, and that left me with a lot to think about.

Based on these experiences, I began to think, “Isn’t there a more natural lifting method with less burden?” and I came to believe that thread lifting was the answer.
In particular, for Korean patients, I judged that thread lifting alone could sufficiently prevent sagging and create good results, given the characteristics of the skin and facial structure.
In the end, patients want to look younger and do not want to look older. If that goal can be achieved with minimal invasiveness, I believe that is the most ideal approach.

- Lifting methods suited to Korean patients
An important point I learned through clinical experience is that nasolabial folds and midface lifting are often not sufficiently improved even with a facelift.
So about 9 years ago, I began researching thread lifting focused on the nasolabial folds and midface, and the result was “Peach Lifting.” Later, this expanded into “Triple Egg Lifting,” which improves the entire face in a balanced way.

The thread lifting I currently perform is not a simple procedure, but a design-centered lift tailored to facial structure.
It has almost no side effects, provides sufficient results, and the maintenance period is relatively long at about 1 year to 1 year and 6 months. Many patients experience natural and satisfying changes after thread lifting.
In addition, to help compensate for the maintenance period of thread lifting, I use a variety of special threads such as Silhouette Soft, Aptos threads, PLLA, and PLCL, and I have also developed and use the Just Young PL, JL, and DL lineups, which improve on existing PDO.

- The advantages and reality of thread lifting
At first, as a board-certified plastic surgeon, I thought that creating the maximum possible surgical result was the most important thing.
But from the patient’s point of view, that was not necessarily the only answer.
✔️ Less burden
✔️ Faster recovery
✔️ Natural-looking change
These three things can be even more important.
Thread lifting is a more difficult procedure than many people think. Because the threads must be inserted invisibly through a small opening, experience, design, and materials are very important to accurately match both direction and depth at the same time.
- Advice for making a safe choice
If you are considering a lift, I recommend that you do not make a rushed decision.
To experience sincere thread lifting, thorough consultation must come first. Even if the appointment is slightly delayed, it is important to receive an accurate diagnosis and explanation at least once.
If you are struggling with these concerns, I recommend consulting with Director Lim Seong-yoon at Just Plastic Surgery to find a thread lifting approach that is safer and minimizes the chance of failure.
