“There are so many types of thread lifting that I don’t know which one to choose.”
“They say Aptos is good, but is it also suitable for my face?”
Hello. I’m Lim Seong-yoon, the CEO director of Just Plastic Surgery Clinic and a plastic surgeon with 21 years of experience.
In recent consultations, many people have found it difficult to choose among the various thread lifting options, including Aptos threads. There are many types—PDO, PCL, PLLA—but in many cases, it is not clear which option is actually right for one’s face.
Even if you pay the same amount, the results and how long they last can vary greatly depending on which thread you choose. So today, based on real clinical experience, I’ll clearly organize the two criteria for choosing Aptos threads.

What Aptos threads are
Why Aptos threads are different from other threads
The most important factor in thread lifting is the “material.”
Typical PDO threads are absorbed relatively quickly, while PCL is known for its longer duration. In contrast, the PLCL used in Aptos threads is not only long-lasting, but also highly elastic.
This elasticity is not just an advantage; it actually affects the final result.
It adapts naturally to facial movement and softly supports the lifted tissue while helping it stay in place without tension.
That is why, in certain cases, Aptos threads often produce results that are much more natural and stable than other threads.

Choose Aptos threads in these cases
First, when you want to naturally lift both the eyebrows and the outer corners of the eyes.
For those who feel burdened by forehead lift surgery, Aptos threads can be a good alternative.
If the direction of the threads and the fixation points are carefully designed, the eyebrows and outer eye corners can be lifted at the same time, helping to improve the overall impression more clearly.

Second, when improvement of the double chin and jawline is needed.
The jawline cannot be improved simply by pulling in one direction. It is important to support a wide area in a three-dimensional way.
At this time, Aptos threads are advantageous because their diamond-pattern structure supports the tissue from multiple directions, making it easier to lift the entire jawline in a stable way.
In actual cases like this, Aptos threads often show high retention and satisfaction.

What is more important than thread selection
As I mentioned today, Aptos threads definitely have many advantages. But they are not the right answer in every case.
Depending on skin thickness, the degree of sagging, and facial structure, PCL, PDO, or PLLA-type threads may be more suitable.
In the end, what matters is not “which thread is better,” but
whether the right thread for my face can be selected accurately.
During consultations, we provide individualized, customized planning based on anatomical structure and help patients make result-oriented choices rather than simple recommendations.

If you only remember the criteria mentioned in today’s post,
you can significantly reduce the number of unnecessary repeat procedures.
However, since there are limits to what can be conveyed through writing,
the most important thing for an accurate judgment is to check the condition in person.
Thank you for reading until the end.
