Hello,
I am Director Oh Young-ju of Oblige Clinic in Hongdae ^^

Time does not flow backward.
There are times when everyone wishes they could turn back time.
Every time you look in the mirror, you may notice a more sagging facial line than before and skin elasticity that has become less defined, and think that you want to go back to a time when your face felt firmer and more lively.
But unfortunately, time does not flow backward.
Instead, what we can do is help the skin recover on its own.

I think many of you reading this article have searched for “TuneFace” with the same thought in mind.
There are many people considering lifting procedures, but in reality, it is often confusing to know which procedure is most suitable for me and which method will be effective.
Even among the commonly known lifting procedures, there are many types, such as thread lifting, ultrasound lifting, and laser lifting.
Among them, TuneFace is receiving a lot of attention because it is not simply about “pulling” the skin, but has a principle that fundamentally restores elasticity within the skin.

So how is TuneFace different from existing lifting procedures?
Also, in which cases is it effective, and conversely, when might it fail to produce the expected results?
Today, I’ll explain in detail from the principles of the TuneFace procedure to the cases for which it is recommended, so that I can help solve your concerns all at once.
Please focus for a moment and read on!
What is TuneFace?
Differences from existing lifting procedures,
Hongdae TuneFace: When Is It Effective and When Is It Not? -1

First of all, TuneFace is a lifting procedure that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy.
It delivers heat not only to the skin surface but also to the dermis and the fascia (SMAS) layer, promoting the production of collagen and elastic fibers.
In simple terms, it is a method that helps elasticity recover by spreading warm heat deep within the skin.
Compared with earlier lifting procedures, TuneFace can be seen as a gentler method.

- Ultrasound lifting (HIFU, e.g., Ultherapy, Shurink)
A method that strongly stimulates deep layers of the skin to contract the tissue
It has excellent immediate tightening effects, but you may experience pulling sensations or temporary swelling after the procedure.
A method that directly pulls the skin by inserting dissolvable threads into it.
The visible lifting effect is clear, but bruising or discomfort may occur during the thread insertion process.

- TuneFace (radiofrequency lifting)
A method that stimulates from within the skin with heat to restore elasticity, with almost no swelling or pain after the procedure.
You can expect gradual improvement in elasticity as the skin recovers on its own.
In other words, TuneFace is suitable for people who want less skin irritation and a natural recovery of elasticity ^^
TuneFace: Effective Cases vs.
Cases Where It Is Not
Hongdae TuneFace: When Is It Effective and When Is It Not? -2

The following are cases in which TuneFace is especially recommended.
✅ When the skin has generally lost elasticity and looks saggy?
As we age, it is natural for the elasticity within the skin to decrease.
However, if left unaddressed, the facial line can become less defined, and the area around the mouth or jawline may appear heavy.
TuneFace helps restore elasticity from within the skin, making it suitable when you want a natural lifting effect.

✅ When the skin is thin or sensitive and strong lifting feels burdensome?
Ultrasound lifting or thread lifting can have strong immediate effects, but they may cause significant irritation to the skin.
In particular, if the skin is thin or sensitive, swelling or pulling sensations may last after the procedure.
Because TuneFace allows thermal energy to spread gently within the skin, it is suitable for those who want a procedure with less irritation and greater comfort.
✅ When you need to return to daily life immediately after the procedure?
TuneFace does not show major changes to the skin immediately after the procedure, so it can be done without much burden even if you have an important schedule.
There is almost no swelling or bruising, so you can maintain a natural appearance right afterward.

However, there are also cases in which TuneFace is not recommended.
❌ When the skin is severely sagging and an immediate effect is needed?
TuneFace is a method that gradually restores elasticity over time.
If you want a quick and definite change, it may be more appropriate to combine it with thread lifting or ultrasound lifting.
❌ When the face has a lot of fat and is sagging heavily?
Since TuneFace is intended to improve elasticity, for a face that is sagging heavily due to a large amount of fat,
it may be more effective to combine it with contour injections or fat-dissolving procedures.

So today, I explained TuneFace.
The important thing is not simply change, but finding the change that best suits your face.
Rather than looking at yourself becoming increasingly less defined in the mirror, I hope you can face a version of yourself that becomes more satisfying little by little every day ^^
We cannot turn back time, but we can make it flow in a better direction.
Helping the skin recover on its own is not just about looking younger,
but also, I believe, a process of being able to love yourself more by becoming healthy and firm in appearance.
Any change is hardest at the beginning. But that small start will make your future self shine even more.
I will support your beautiful transformation.
Wishing you happiness today as well, this has been Director Oh Young-ju :)
