Hello, everyone,
This is Director Oh Young-ju of Hongdae Oblige Clinic :)

As a dermatologist, I enjoy experiencing new procedures myself whenever a new treatment comes out.
From why patients hesitate to undergo a procedure, to the effects they expect, and even the side effects they worry about...
Only by experiencing all of this firsthand can I understand it more deeply.
But there is something I realized while performing self-treatments on myself.

It is difficult to expect a perfect transformation from just one treatment,
and from the patient’s perspective, to maximize results, you need medical staff who will keep an eye on your skin over time.
Our skin changes with the seasons, with age, and depending on what kind of care we have received.
That is why it is difficult to fully understand my skin from just one visit.
On the other hand, as medical records accumulate, more precise personalized treatment becomes possible based on the skin’s changes and responses over time.
In other words, rather than visiting once or twice and stopping, receiving consistent care at a clinic that knows your skin well can lead to greater results.

But in reality, many people move from one dermatology clinic to another.
Once because they saw an event promotion, once because a friend recommended one, and once more because they read online reviews...
As they keep going from place to place, they end up not finding the right fit for their skin and feel like they are wandering without direction.
So today, let’s talk about why it is important to find a dermatology clinic you can keep going to consistently,
and what you should consider when choosing your first clinic.
"Today’s post is not simply promotional content telling you to visit our clinic."
I wrote this in the hope that it would be of some small help in choosing a place where you can receive the treatment your skin truly needs ^^
The inconvenience of moving from one dermatology clinic to another

Many people are used to quitting a clinic they visited once or twice and looking for a new one.
But if you keep moving around like this, there are more inconveniences than you might expect.
"I don’t know what procedure I had done before."
This is actually one of the things I hear often in the consultation room.
The truth is, every time you change clinics, your past treatment records disappear,
so from the medical staff’s perspective, they are put in a position where they have to assess a new patient’s skin condition from scratch.
Because they need to build new data on the patient’s skin type, past treatment history, and how they responded to certain procedures, unnecessary time is spent.
In such cases, there is a higher chance of repeating the same treatment or receiving a procedure that does not suit your skin.

"What procedure would be best for me?"
Even if skin concerns seem similar, the solution is often different for each person.
For the same blemish treatment, laser toning may be effective for some people, while IPL may suit others better.
But if you keep changing dermatology clinics, it becomes difficult to organize what treatment is right for you.
Skin changes depending on the season and lifestyle habits, and because you have to start consultations from scratch every time you switch clinics, consistent treatment becomes difficult.
Therefore, it can be much more efficient to keep visiting one clinic and consult with medical staff who know your skin well.

"It costs more than I expected."
Every time you switch clinics, you may be recommended a new procedure or end up receiving a promotional treatment, and in the process, miss the treatment your skin actually needs.
In the end, frequently changing dermatology clinics can take more time and money, and make it harder to get the results you want.
Criteria for choosing a dermatology clinic you can keep going to?

Then how can you find a clinic you can continue to visit consistently?
If I were in the position of a patient looking for a dermatologist, I would choose a clinic using the following three criteria ^^
First, you should find a place that gives your skin an accurate diagnosis.
When you first visit a clinic, rather than one that simply says, “This procedure is very popular these days,”
it would be better to choose a clinic that carefully analyzes your skin condition and clearly explains what care you need.

Second, you should check whether the clinic manages your treatment history.
You need a clinic that can care for your skin from a long-term perspective, not just through one or two procedures.
For example, if the medical staff remember what procedure you had last time and how your skin reacted,
wouldn’t you be able to receive much more effective treatment on your next visit?

Third, it is important to see whether enough consultation is provided.
Whatever the procedure may be, the clinic should explain sufficiently whether it is suitable for your skin, whether there are any side effects, and how often it should be done.
If a clinic recommends a procedure immediately after a very short consultation, it would be good to think again.
As such, finding a clinic you can continue to go to is more important than a simple event price.
Using the criteria I mentioned, please look into around two to three dermatology clinics and compare them carefully from the very first consultation.

So today, I wrote a post about dermatology clinics.
Changing dermatology clinics repeatedly is like rereading only the first page every time you pick up a book.
At first it seems interesting, but in the end, you can’t tell where the story is going.
Skin is the same.
If you have an expert who will keep track of your skin changes while you receive consistent care in one place, you can reduce unnecessary trial and error and receive more precise personalized treatment.

In the end, I hope you won’t forget that a good dermatology clinic starts not with a promotional price, but with a place that understands your skin.
That is all I prepared for today.
