Hello, everyone.
This is Director Oh Young-ju of Oblige Clinic in Hongdae.

If you are reading this post now, you are probably considering a lifting procedure.
“My skin sagging has become noticeably worse.
I’m thinking about getting a tightening treatment,
but I don’t know which one to choose.”
“I had a procedure before, but it didn’t seem to work much.
This time, I want to look into it properly and make a decision.”
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

In fact, these are the comments I hear most often during consultations before lifting procedures.
It seems that many people decide without accurate information before treatment and end up regretting it. ^^;
So today, I’ll organize the differences between Ulthera and Shurink from the perspective of a doctor who sees dermatology patients.
We’ll look at which of the two treatments is more suitable for you,
and also at the criteria for making a smart choice based on your skin condition and budget.
What’s the difference between the two treatments?

Ulthera vs. Shurink
Ulthera and Shurink are both non-surgical lifting procedures, so it’s easy to think they produce similar effects.
But in reality, the devices used, the depth of action, the pain level, and even how long the results last are all different.
First, Ulthera uses high-intensity ultrasound (HIFU) to deliver thermal energy to the SMAS layer (the fascia layer).
SMAS is the structural support layer of the skin,
and it is the area that causes reduced elasticity.
Because of this, Ulthera is suitable for middle-aged and older adults who have noticeable sagging in the cheeks or a weakened jawline.
Shurink uses lower-intensity HIFU than Ulthera and mainly affects the dermis and subcutaneous fat layer.
Therefore, Shurink is suitable when skin elasticity has decreased slightly or as a preventive lifting treatment in your 20s and 30s.
What about pain and how long it lasts?

The treatment intensity, pain, and duration are different as well.
As you can see from the table, Ulthera can deliver a relatively strong lifting effect even with just one session,
but there may be pain during the procedure, and the cost is relatively high.
On the other hand, Shurink causes almost no pain and is relatively affordable, but it needs to be repeated regularly to maintain the effect.
It also got a lot of laughs when Song Ji-hyo mentioned it on Running Man. ^^;
The cost of Ulthera varies by clinic, but it is usually over 1 million won, and the price depends on the number of shots.
Shurink is in the 100,000 to 300,000 won range, so it is relatively less burdensome.
Therefore, if your budget is ample and you want the results from one treatment to last a long time, Ulthera is the better choice,
while if you want to receive it steadily like routine maintenance at a good value, Shurink can be a more practical option. ^^?

If you’ve been wondering whether this choice is the right procedure for you,
you may now have a better idea.
What matters is not following a famous procedure,
but choosing one that fits your skin condition and goals.
Lifting procedures are not just about restoring firmness,
but also about taking valuable time to focus on yourself.
I hope your choice becomes the starting point for a more confident appearance going forward.
Thank you. This has been Director Oh Young-ju. :)
