Hello,
I’m Oh Young-ju, director of Hongdae Obliged Clinic.
When choosing a dermatology clinic these days, most people start by checking “reviews” or “recommendations.”
“An entertainer goes there too.”
“The blog photos show their skin really improved.”
“My friend went there and said it was good.”
But there are also many people who visit after trusting only those reviews, then end up thinking, “Why doesn’t this suit me?” and feeling disappointed ^^;

In fact, everyone’s skin is so different that just because something worked well for someone else does not mean it will definitely suit you too.
Even when performing a procedure, we do not simply follow a fixed menu like a checklist.
We look at the skin condition, make slight adjustments, and adjust the intensity while anticipating irritation reactions.
That is because I have directly experienced in the treatment room that these “small differences” change the outcome.

That is why, when a new procedure is introduced, I tend to try it on my own face first.
I need to feel how the skin reacts and what it feels like...
Only then can I explain it properly to patients.
Today, I want to talk about this.
It is about what matters more than recommendations: how a place treats my skin.
What matters more than hearing that it’s “good”

These days, most procedures look similar.
Same device, same name, same explanation...
So I often hear in the treatment room that people do not really know what is different from one clinic to another.
But even the same procedure can produce very different results depending on what skin it is done on, under what conditions, and by whom.
For example, even if the same lifting device is used, you have to adjust in detail things like
which direction to pull the facial contours,
how much heat to spread out,
and how to control pain.
Only when those details are carefully adjusted do you get a truly satisfying result!
And what makes that possible is experience with the procedure!
An explanation with a reason

Even if you observe and learn a procedure many times, there are so many things you cannot know until you actually receive it yourself.
For example, which area is more painful than expected,
how long the lingering heat sensation lasts,
and when makeup starts sitting naturally again,
these are not written in the device manual.
But these details are ultimately what determine the procedure,
and they are undeniably the truly important information that reduces anxiety while you are receiving it.

That is why, when a new procedure is introduced, I try it on my own face first.
From a medical staff perspective, it is good for study,
but above all, it lets me know exactly how it feels from the patient’s perspective.
Rather than simply following the intensity or target area written in the device manual,
it means feeling with my own body how the skin actually responds.
So for those of you reading this,
rather than relying simply on a friend’s recommendation or reviews,
✔ a clinic where the medical staff fully understands the procedure
✔ can explain it based on actual experience
✔ and can make delicate adjustments according to skin response
Please check whether the clinic is one where such medical staff provide treatment.
Please remember that this can lead to more satisfying results.

Thank you for reading this long post.
This has been Director Oh Young-ju.
I hope you have a happy day today : )
