Hello. I’m Dr. Taeo Park, the director of Relieve Clinic, where we pursue slow aging without pain.
These days, Serf’s popularity has been steadily rising, and there is one thing I hear most often during consultations.
“Doctor, how many Serf shots should I get? Is it better to get 600 shots?”
To get straight to the point, I strongly recommend getting 600 shots.

The difference before and after Serf
The difference between 300 shots and 600 shots is not simply that the number of shots is doubled.
It is about how much collagen can be denatured.
“Collagen denaturation” may sound unfamiliar, so I’ll explain it slowly in an easy-to-understand way.
First, let me briefly explain what Serf is.
Serf lifting?

This is something the Serf company emphasizes.
I usually explain that Serf is somewhere between Ulthera and Thermage. It has lifting effects that are better than Thermage, yet it also has the qualities of Thermage, which makes it quite appealing.
To get a bit more technical, Serf is a lifting device that induces collagen regeneration and reorganization by delivering radiofrequency energy deep into the dermis and denaturing collagen fibers.
The biggest difference from Thermage is that it emits a composite frequency (6.78MHz + 2MHz) (Thermage only emits 6.7MHz). This 2MHz wavelength penetrates deeply and creates a lifting effect.
Serf can be said to be a device that delivers heat evenly into deeper areas while causing almost no pain.

There is actually a fairly well-designed paper on it as well.
Serf 300 shots vs. 600 shots
The mechanism of Serf is as follows.

Radiofrequency raises the temperature of the dermal layer - collagen denaturation - a collagen production signal is triggered
Because the purpose of Serf is collagen production, you can only see a clear effect if collagen is sufficiently denatured.
To sufficiently denature collagen, you need enough shots (= enough energy).
In the end, what really matters is whether enough energy is delivered at once.
That is why 600 shots will naturally be more effective than 300 shots, and 900 shots may be more effective than 600 shots.
I usually use 300 shots only for tightening the nasolabial folds or the jowls, and for a full face I always use 600 shots or more.
What is just as important as the number of shots
Just as important as the number of shots are personalized treatment and the practitioner’s skill.
With Serf, the depth, energy level, and cooling intensity can all be adjusted. During treatment, the practitioner must check the patient’s skin thickness, degree of fat layer, and elasticity, then appropriately adjust the number of shots and depth. And depending on skill level, the treatment may be painful or may be done with no pain at all.

(I received an award at Serf’s 1st anniversary event for using it a lot.. just a little bragging..)
Today I wrote, in a somewhat unstructured way, about Serf 300 shots and 600 shots based on whatever came to mind. I’m not sure how it came across, but in any case, it really does seem like a very good device.
To summarize, the key points of the Serf procedure are:
That would be all.
This has been Dr. Taeo Park. Thank you.
