Everything About Radiesse Skin Booster and Collagen Booster Treatment

As people age, areas such as the nasolabial folds, the sides of the cheeks, and under the eyes gradually begin to lose volume, which can become a concern.

Some people may want a treatment to add volume but feel that fillers are too burdensome.

When consulting with people who have these concerns, I actively recommend Radiesse.

So, what exactly is Radiesse?

Radiesse Skin Booster or Collagen Booster? What Is It?

Radiesse is different from conventional hyaluronic acid fillers.

Its main ingredient is calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA).

This substance can be considered similar to our bones. When it is introduced into the skin, it does more than simply add volume—it stimulates collagen production and helps restore the skin’s natural elasticity.

In other words, in addition to the immediate volume after injection, the skin’s elasticity may improve over time.

To explain the principle simply, you can think of it this way: cells involved in collagen regeneration attach to and are stimulated by the calcium particles in Radiesse, creating signals for collagen production. The details become endlessly complicated if we go deeper into the subject...

In any case, rather than calling Radiesse a skin booster, it is more appropriate to call it a collagen booster.

Treatment Areas for Radiesse

Radiesse is particularly often used in the following areas:

• Nasolabial folds

• The sides of the cheeks and the area below the cheekbones

• Marionette lines

• Overall lifting along the facial contours

It tends to produce particularly noticeable results in the nasolabial folds and the sides of the cheeks, and patient satisfaction is generally high.

An Important Point

Radiesse is a product made by diluting CaHA with water. Therefore, the dilution ratio and techniques may vary somewhat from one clinic to another, so the results may also differ slightly. I use Radiesse with a dilution ratio somewhere between collagen regeneration and adding volume.

Another important consideration for any treatment is how painful the procedure is. Radiesse treatment is usually performed with nerve-block anesthesia, and even with the nerve block alone, you can receive the treatment more comfortably than you might expect before going home.

Radiesse Treatment Schedule

I generally recommend two to three sessions at intervals of four to eight weeks, and explain that the results last for more than one year. When you feel that the volume has begun to decrease slightly, you can visit approximately once a year for a single session to maintain the results.
