Hello.
I am Dr. Park Tae-oh of Relive, who is constantly researching painless treatment.
"Aren't both Radiesse and Juvelook collagen procedures?"
That is true, but not entirely accurate.
Both procedures are types of skin boosters that induce collagen production,
but their mechanisms of action and the way changes appear are quite different.
That is why I always look first at "which one is better" less than
"what is lacking in the skin right now."

Radiesse means "support," and Juvelook means "recovery"
Radiesse is a collagen stimulator based on CaHA.
Because the particles are relatively firm, they create support for facial contours
from the moment of injection,
and over time they stimulate the production of collagen types 1 and 3.
That is why it works well for areas such as the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and jawline,
where structural elasticity and line refinement are needed.
The effect of Radiesse is felt relatively quickly,
and over several months it shows a flow in which skin thickness and elasticity improve together.
It can be very helpful for thin areas with a lot of movement, overall crepey skin,
and hollowed skin.

On the other hand, Juvelook is a PDLLA-based biostimulator,
and it is not a procedure that creates immediate volume like a hyaluronic acid filler.
After the fine particles are evenly distributed in the dermal layer,
they gradually break down in the body
and work by stimulating fibroblasts and inducing collagen production.
This process does not end in the short term,
but progresses gradually over about 2 to 3 months,
leading to changes in the direction of increased dermal density and restored skin thickness.
The effect of Juvelook is closer to improving overall skin condition,
such as refining skin texture, elasticity, and the skin’s ability to retain moisture.

Differences in how quickly changes appear
Radiesse often gives the feeling that the "contour has been refined"
from a relatively early stage after treatment.
Once the swelling goes down, the contours become clearer,
and then the collagen effect accumulates over time.
Juvelook is the opposite.
The early changes are not dramatic, but after 2 to 4 weeks the skin texture begins to change first,
and then elasticity and volume gradually follow.
Even when the two procedures are performed on different areas on the same day,
Radiesse is often more noticeable at first,
and later on we often hear feedback that the skin treated with Juvelook feels smoother.

In the end, the deciding factor is the skin condition
The maintenance period for Radiesse and Juvelook
can generally be expected to be around one year,
and the effects accumulate with repeated treatments.
However, Radiesse has limitations for very thin areas because of its particle characteristics,
and Juvelook also has the drawback that immediate volume changes are difficult to expect.
Nodules or foreign-body sensations with skin boosters are also influenced more by
injection depth, dilution method, planning, and skill
than by the product itself.

That is why, rather than following trends or names,
I first consider the current skin thickness, the cause of hollowing,
and the speed of change desired.
Rather than following blindly,
understanding what kind of recovery my skin needs.
That is the safest choice and the one with the highest satisfaction.
Please remember that the decision comes after that.
Thank you. This was Dr. Park.
