Hello.
I am Dentist Baek, dreaming of becoming a master implantologist and a gourmet.
I’d like to belatedly share my review of the JW Marriott Jeju staycation I took in November 2024.
Since the post is long, I plan to split it into Part 1 about the hotel and Part 2 about the breakfast task.
This post may be especially helpful for those who have the Marriott Bonvoy The Best Shinhan Card!
I can also answer most related questions-!
JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa

I can’t promise this will always be true, but if you enjoy domestic staycations, the “Marriott Bonvoy The Best Shinhan Card” and “JW Marriott Jeju” are probably the best-matched combination.
First, you can use the free night certificate very efficiently, and it also gives the so-called “breakfast task” Marriott dining discount coupon worth 50,000 won.

I visited in early November, the day after it had rained heavily in Jeju.
Fortunately, the weather was fine during our two-night, three-day stay!

It looks very cloudy in the photo, but the weather was much better than on a rainy day!

After valet parking and receiving directions, you enter the lobby and are greeted by this ocean view.
The distant view you can see is the southern sea of Jeju.
JW Marriott Jeju can “of course” use valet parking.
I was worried because I thought only a few cards would qualify, but there are actually quite a lot of eligible cards!
That said, ordinary credit cards are not accepted, and I remember that most were premium cards with annual fees of several hundred thousand won.
If you want to know which credit cards are affiliated with JW Marriott Jeju valet parking, they will kindly show you a brochure!

One notable feature is how friendly the staff are.
They even guide you directly to your room~

Until the check-in process is complete, you can wait while enjoying Jeju tangerine chocolate and warm tea.
Deluxe King
1 King Bed, Sofa Bed, Garden View, Balcony

I checked by selecting random dates, and the room I stayed in was the most basic room, so it had a garden view.
When using the Marriott Bonvoy The Best Shinhan Card, if you meet the requirements you can obtain Marriott Bonvoy Platinum status, and although I already have Platinum status... I did not receive a room upgrade.
There may be a quota by tier... and if you are staying with guests who have higher Titanium or Ambassador status, there’s nothing that can be done!!! Also, JW Marriott Jeju has recently become widely known as a very good place, so there were many actual guests as well.

The yellow-toned interior, reminiscent of Jeju, makes the place feel very pleasant.
A neighbor said the best option is to be assigned to the 6th floor... but I couldn’t choose that myselfㅠㅠ I was assigned to the 5th floor!

As soon as you enter, the room feels spacious and refreshing!
Even if it is the most basic room, you have to admit the facilities are good and the space is generous, given the price point.
The place where I’m standing is the view immediately to the right after turning my back to the door.
In the left area you can faintly see a makeup room with two sinks, and the thing far away is the balcony.
Between the makeup room and the balcony is a lovely bathtub.
Where I’m standing, there is a space for luggage, a minibar, and a separate toilet room.

Shall we take a closer look?
With a king-size bed and a sofa, this room has everything you need.
A staycation alone is enough to make you happy!!!! We came here for a staycation too :)
(At this point, we know Jeju pretty well anyway, right? ㅎㅎ)

There is a vanity with two sinks.
The mirror is hidden in the center!
I’ll mention this later, but the amenities are by Bulgari. Good, good!! I liked them~

There is a sofa and table in the middle of the living space~
There were welcome tangerines on top, and they were quite tasty.
They replenished them every day, which really made it feel like we were in Jeju!!

If you go out onto the balcony, the garden view means you actually see the east/north side rather than the sea.
You may think this is probably the least preferred view~
Of course, an open sea view would be best, but I really enjoyed just chatting quietly with my wife while looking at the green plants !!!
It wasn’t cold either...!

If you turn around, you can see the bathtub.
I thought, is this a hinoki tub? But it wasn’t... it was a stone bathtub.
If you position yourself well, you might even be able to see outside from the tub. ㅎㅎ

As expected, you can confirm that Bulgari amenities are being used..
You can also enjoy a half-body bath by drawing hot water and using herbs.
This may be the best hotel I’ve visited in Jeju~!

The room seen from the opposite side looks roughly like this..

If you look at the garden in a panoramic view, it looks like this! ㅎㅎ
Ah, there’s one more area I haven’t shown you..

This is the minibar you encounter right when you enter.
They said the defining feature was an ice maker, and sure enough, there it was ㅋㅋㅋ I didn’t use it..

I actually don’t use it, but you can also see coffee cups and capsule coffee for brewing..

There are also glasses like these, so you don’t need to worry about cups when drinking wine or whiskey!

If you pay for them, you can enjoy nuts including Udo peanuts, but they are a bit expensive.

You might think, with so much food in Jeju, why have a minibar like this?
But JW Marriott Jeju is quite far from a convenience store, so if you don’t buy anything at night, you may need to use it ㅋㅋ
Dancing Crane

This is the path to “Dancing Crane,” the hidden café at JW Marriott Jeju.
It’s outdoors, and after getting off the elevator you have to follow the right-hand hallway all the way~~
Why go here? At the time I stayed, the café was not operating, so they gave two free cups of coffee!
And when the weather is nice, the view is good, so I think many people go there just for a walk.

Actually, we had already had plenty of fun at the pool... and were on our way to get coffee. ㅋㅋ
The café itself is indoors, and the seating is outside.
Under the hot Jeju sun, the chairs have all faded in color~~

There were several coffee beans available, and at the time you could get drip coffee hot or iced.
I drank Cocomom, and the roasted beans tasted much better than I expected!

There were more breads inside than I expected...
As everyone probably knows, because of various reasons we were always full during our stay in Jeju..... so I skipped the bakery items...

Once outside, you can see this fantastic view!

If you hold a cup of coffee beans and take photos with the outdoor pool as the background, the pictures come out really well!! It’s secretly a great photo spot.
JW Marriott Jeju has been built surprisingly well and beautifully.
Personally, I think it was built as well as Parnas Jeju!! It’s so impressive.

Outdoor Pool

The outdoor pool at JW Marriott Jeju, seen from below, is this beautiful!!
I remember it operated until 9 p.m. For reference, the indoor pool is also very well equipped, and there are plenty of facilities so children can use it too.

I think it was around 4 o’clock... there is a pool break time if you wait, and to keep you from getting bored while waiting, they give you snacks.
When we went, they gave us sweet potato gangjeong and a tangy juice. That kind of small detail is part of the fun :)

The indoor pool is quite spacious, so be sure to check it out too! Most people travel with their families, so this may be useful to know :)

The sauna area was using Byredo amenities.
I was a little surprised that the men’s sauna was not as large as I expected, but the facilities were very clean and nice.

You could also have a campfire until 10 p.m.,
but unfortunately we arrived too late to enjoy it ㅠㅠ
You can roast sweet potatoes and they also refill makgeolli ^^ㅋㅋ

And so the night at JW Marriott Jeju comes again...
In the next Part 2, I’ll write about JW Marriott Jeju’s breakfast and dinner buffet!
I wrote this post to share my personal experience because I feel like I’ve been enjoying Marriott hotels 100 times more on domestic and international trips than expected, thanks to the Marriott Bonvoy The Best Shinhan Card that I happened to learn about.
JW Marriott Jeju, the sacred place for point stay enthusiasts that everyone knows about but treats as a secret. But looking at 2025... there are almost no available dates showing up...
And the 50,000 won restaurant discount coupon from this card, known as the breakfast task, can be used at several places. For those two reasons alone, I’d say this is a sufficiently attractive place to visit once a year!
In my opinion, hotels clustered in Jeju City or the Jungmun Tourist Complex are of course nice too, but if you want a more intimate staycation with just your family, even if it is a little less convenient, JW Marriott Jeju could be a great choice.
Of course, the price level is high, so access is not easy in reality, but we have the Shinhan Card!! I hope you use it wisely!! Personally, I’m confident you can enjoy the trip more than expected.
In the next part, I’ll post one more time about the food :)
That’s the daily life of Dentist Baek!!
