[Yeoksam-dong Restaurant] bills Gangnam - Recommended Australian-Style Brunch Date Spot. Easy Parking, Ricotta Hotcakes, and Carbonara.

This is Baek Director's food guide.

Today’s restaurant introduction is a brunch place in Yeoksam-dong that I have loved for a long time.

I even told my wife about it, but I had gone there a few times for blind dates... It’s such a place I really like, so I went there together.

It’s a very famous place, but let me still give it a review~ haha

bills Gangnam

I remember bills Gwanghwamun used to be famous back in the day.. but it has been gone for quite some time now.

This place is on the L floor of Arc Place near Yeoksam Station.

The parking lot is spacious, so parking is easy, and there is also a Starbucks when you leave the restaurant.. Personally, I thought it was a place perfectly optimized for blind dates..... Of course, it’s even better to go with my wife!

Location: L floor, Arc Place, 142 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul

Parking: Free parking for 2 hours on weekdays, 4 hours on weekends.

The building is large and the parking lot is spacious, which is a big advantage for everyone living in Seoul.

Even if you don’t bring a car, the fact that it’s a restaurant in front of Exit 3 of Yeoksam Station on Line 2.. well, that’s a huge bonus!!

That’s probably why it’s a preferred meeting place.

Reservations are available through Catch Table, and there are seats that are good for groups, so I think it’s a great place for gatherings in Yeoksam-dong as well.

Exterior

It’s an attractive space with an interior that blends wood tones and silver.

The lighting is a bit yellowish, so I think it’s an ideal place for a blind date. It makes you look better~

The bills Gangnam sign, which somehow gives off an Australian vibe even though it’s nothing special..

Anyway, the interior is really amazing.

A spacious bar table greets you right in front.

Of course, since I visited during the day, I didn’t see anyone having a glass of whiskey. haha

The seating you see in front isn’t all of it; there are many more seats behind the bar table too!

Still, if it’s an evening appointment, it’s best to make a reservation in advance before visiting.

This is an interior photo of bills Gangnam taken from the corner where we were guided to sit.

The corner seat we sat in was L-shaped, making it a good spot for sitting side by side or dining together with 5–6 people. If you look to the left, there are also 4-person tables lined up, and you can sit facing each other to eat.

In front of us, there were also group customers, and if I remember correctly, there was a party of 7.

Anyway, I highly recommend it as a place for a casual gathering in Yeoksam-dong.

One feature is that the back side is in English, so it’s not difficult for foreign guests to read either!

The dish I always order whenever I go is the bills Ricotta Hotcake, which even has the name “bills” in it.

Additionally.. I ordered the bills Carbonara Pasta, another dish many people also order and which also has the name “bills” in it.

This place doesn’t serve huge portions, so you can easily handle one more salad!

So I also added the bills Green Salad with Yuzu Kosho Dressing, which also has the name “bills” in it.

Let the meal begin!!!

Another big plus is that the staff are very kind.

And every time a dish comes out, they reset the plates and utensils...

The price is a bit high, but good interiors, open space, and delicious food always make you feel good.

bills Green Salad, Yuzu Kosho Dressing (8,000 won)

This was bills Green Salad, packed with nothing but green.

As you may have noticed, the feature is that it’s mixed with a yuzu-flavored sauce.

A variety of leaves are tossed with the sauce.

Each leaf has quite a strong aroma. It feels almost like having herbs in your mouth..

I thought it might be polarizing. Still, even for someone like me who doesn’t particularly enjoy salads, it wasn’t hard to eat.

What makes bills Gangnam distinctive is that it feels less like a dish adapted to Korean tastes and more like an authentic Australian-style dish.

So it may taste somewhat unfamiliar. Still, it is definitely a Yeoksam-dong brunch restaurant with a unique charm.

bills Carbonara Pasta (26,000 won)

Wow, this was quite an expensive pasta....

Its appearance is quite different from the carbonara we usually make at home, right?

It’s the thick, creamy style you’d usually see at a good restaurant in Europe, with an egg yolk on top.

Well.. the pasta we usually eat is delicious too,

but a salty pasta mixed with egg yolk and packed with nicely grilled bacon like this has a powerful charm as well!!

If you zoom in, it looks roughly like this~~~

Cheese is sprinkled on top, and there’s plenty of bacon, so you can enjoy a true Australian-style carbonara.

If you mix it slowly, it eventually becomes a carbonara with an extremely thick, creamy look.

It’s really hard to take a pretty photo haha

I heard my wife who tried it gave it the seal of approval~

It’s a carbonara pasta that is somewhat salty and savory. By the time you finish this, the main character appears right on cue.

bills Ricotta Hotcake, Banana, Honeycomb Butter (23,000 won)

The bills Ricotta Hotcake, which can be called bills Gangnam’s signature menu, has appeared.

If you order it, you’ll be told in advance that it will take about 20 minutes.

So no matter which dish you order.. this one ends up appearing last.

It has a simple composition.

I think it used to be grilled banana before.... so I remember there being a caramel coating. But now it’s just plain banana....

There are three hotcakes, and each one is topped with a large round piece of butter.

The banana is split in two and placed underneath.. and right beside it there is maple syrup(?) as well.

The key is to cut each part well and eat it together.

So.. cut the bread first, spread the butter on it, drizzle on the syrup, and then eat it with a piece of banana.

This is an excellent ricotta hotcake, with each ingredient offering a clean, refined taste.

Even though it’s called a hotcake, the texture is similar to a soufflé pancake.

If you eat it with only the butter, the nutty flavor becomes stronger, but it can feel a bit bland.. so I definitely recommend drizzling on the syrup and eating it.

That’s when the sweet-and-salty charm really bursts out.

There’s also a rumor that after finishing this, you’ll end up feeling quite full...

We ate really, really well today too!

Conclusion

A restaurant from old memories, but still a great restaurant even when revisited!

There are quite a few places I used to enjoy going to in the past that, when I revisit them after a long time, no longer feel like the place in my memory and have become ordinary restaurants. It can even feel awkward to the person who came with you...

When I visited bills Gangnam again after several years, even though it had been a few years since I last went, the interior had not worn down with time and was still shining as a restaurant worth remembering.

I was able to enjoy it comfortably as a walk-in rather than during dinner time, but I still recommend making a reservation. Most people will probably go there while looking for a Gangnam blind date spot.. so it would be good to keep in mind that parking is generously supported.

As I also wrote in the body, the characteristic of bills Gangnam is that it has a distinctly Australian-style sweet-and-salty, and sometimes tart, charm that doesn’t compromise much with Korean tastes.

Maybe.. if you visit while trusting my words, you might be surprised by how new the flavors taste, but if you’re worried, you can try ordering the ricotta hotcake and carbonara. And from your second visit onward, you can expand your menu choices and enjoy the place little by little. haha
