This is the eating-and-drinking guide from 백원장.

Yesterday I read such a great post that I was really moved, so I’d like to share a story about going to a hotel lounge with my wife.

Honestly, people like hotel lounges so much that even after going, they often don’t post about them, but this place is seriously, seriously a top-tier 5-star hotel spot with a Han River night view... so I just couldn’t not write about it.

The daytime view is also absolutely fantastic. It’s shown really well in a post by one of my favorite neighbors!

Lounge & Deck

Actually, up until now, my favorite lounge was The Lounge at Park Hyatt Seoul.

Why... because the food was delicious, haha. It’s a place where you can always eat tasty Korean food at a reasonable price.

It’s expensive, of course... but when you’re hungry around 8:30 p.m. after work and want to go somewhere to enjoy yourself, it really felt like a great place.

Also, if you have the Hyundai Card the First or the Korean Air Hyundai Card the First, Park Hyatt Seoul gives you a 10% discount.

Location: 8 Mapo-daero, Mapo-gu, Seoul

Parking: Valet available.

It is a 5-star hotel located near Mapo Station.

As an ACCOR-affiliated hotel, it looked like a place that is popular with foreigners while I sat in the lounge looking down the hallway.

Among major hotels, ACCOR is almost the only European hotel chain, so... it probably has a lot of popularity among Europeans, right? Haha.

Anyway, the Lounge & Deck introduced today is located on the 20th floor, and it truly has an incredibly beautiful view!!!

Exterior

As soon as I saw the 20th-floor lounge at Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery, which has such a stunning night view,

I had my wife, who was already excited, stand there while I took a commemorative photo first. Haha.

Actually, I was thinking, where exactly does it say LOUNGE & DECK?? But it’s written clearly on the standing sign at the entrance. Hehe.

Interior

If you look at the photos on the Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery website, they show such a beautiful interior like this,

but I’ll show you a different charm from the daytime look, haha.

As soon as you step inside, you’ll really fall in love with it because it’s a café with huge floor-to-ceiling windows!

Actually, maybe because it was Sunday, there weren’t any people having drinks at the bar seats.

Everyone came in small groups to socialize and was having dinner a little late in the evening~~

I really thought it was a space that uses lighting incredibly well!! Honestly, the furniture itself didn’t feel particularly luxurious one by one... and, as you’d expect from an ACCOR-affiliated place, there was a colorful, patterned feel, but the lighting seemed to make up for all of it...

Lighting interior design is this important!! Someday, for my dental clinic too.....

Also, it may look like there’s no one there at all, but the right-side table and the table by the window farther away were full!!

The time I visited was around 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Since there is a wide variety of alcohol, I’ll skip items like cocktails and whiskey.

First of all, the first page features the value-for-money menu that Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery Lounge & Deck is promoting.

Main dish + 1 cocktail for a flat 41,000 won!!! If you choose the menu well, it looks like you could save around 10,000 won...

Since it is that season, they were also selling strawberry bingsu. At 75,000 won, it’s so-so.

For reference, I used the Hyundai Card Korean Air the First card, and if your Mastercard tier is high, they give you a 10% discount. Maybe the Hyundai Card Amex Platinum (HyunA-Plus) would work too..... ACCOR-affiliated hotels often give a 10% discount when you pay with a premium credit card. (Though they don’t seem to have many memberships... except for KT, maybe)

At a glance, it also looked like premium Samsung Cards might work too... If you have any cards with a high annual fee, ask whether they offer a discount!!!

Two pages of snacks.

These are the kinds of menus you kind of want for a late-night snack. Haha.

We had already eaten Western food for lunch too, so after debating between kimchi fried rice and rosé tteokbokki, we decided on rosé tteokbokki.

Since we might get thirsty, we ordered one more drink as well. Water is provided by default, but...

My preference is always an iced café latte, haha. The price of 16,000 won is expensive, but it somehow feels cheap... because it’s a 5-star hotel...

Still, the Han River night view is so beautiful!!

I agree that the Signiel Seoul lounge is the best Han River view spot, and I also agree that this is the best value-for-money Han River view spot.

(Actually, it looks better than Conrad Seoul)

Iced café latte (16,000 won -> 14,400 won)

The coffee comes out very quickly.

And as my neighbor explained, the freshly squeezed juice is a whopping 12,000 won... and 10,800 won after the discount!!

Even after the discount, the coffee isn’t that expensive considering the Han River view... but the freshly squeezed juice seems like a pretty great deal.

The cup was quite large too..... The freshly squeezed juice might be better than the orange juice you buy at the basement of Shinsegae Department Store.

And they also give you two snacks. The taste is so-so.

Rosé tteokbokki (28,000 won -> 25,200 won)

A rosé tteokbokki with an amazing visual appeared.

But it took a bit longer than expected~~ It seemed to take about 15 to 20 minutes.

The topping on top is fried squid, and it looked like they fried an entire whole squid!! The portion is really substantial.

With the two stars of today in front of us, we took another photo...

But the rosé tteokbokki’s appearance is really, haha, packed full.

It may look a little intimidating, but if you look closely, there are lots of rice cakes, sausages, fish cake, and thick noodles...

And the fried squid looks quite substantial.

It was delicious~~ It really was.

Since the squid is a whole squid that’s been cut and fried, you can enjoy the head, body, and legs together,

and the squid flavor is packed into the batter, so it tasted better than expected.

You might think, looking at the portion, that it’s very small? But once you finish all the squid too, you’ll actually be pretty full...

If you ordered this at a typical izakaya, I think they’d easily charge over 20,000 won.

Anyway, a satisfying review..!

We really, really enjoyed a delicious meal today too.!!!

Conclusion

A Mapo Station Han River-view spot that was even more delicious than I expected!

There are many places where you can see the Han River, but a Han River view looking down toward Yeouido from Mapo Station seems quite rare.

Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery. I knew it existed, but without my neighbor’s post, I think it would be a hotel I still wouldn’t know about now and might not know in the future either. Haha. And since it’s affiliated with ACCOR, it’s nice that you can earn points too.

The bakery on the first-floor café also looked reasonably priced, and although I didn’t try it, I think if you buy something and take it upstairs, you can enjoy it in the lounge too. I’m sure you’ll fall in love with the best Han River view, along with the friendly service from the 5-star hotel staff in Mapo-gu and the delicious food and drinks!!!

I personally really liked the rosé tteokbokki and the iced café latte we had today.

Of course, I need to try other menu items too, but for now I think today’s menu was good! Especially if you can get a card discount (or an Accor membership discount), that would be even better~

If you’re looking for a place where you can enjoy a Han River view overlooking Yeouido from a high floor, this is it!

The hotel valet fee was also inexpensive (I think it was 15,000 won!), and there were quite a few partner credit cards, so if you go by car, it would probably be much more convenient.

It was a place I wanted to keep to myself, but since I learned about it too, I’m sharing it like this :) Haha.
