This is Baekwonjang’s food guide.

There have been quite a lot of Chinese restaurant posts lately. Haha. Since it’s the beginning of the year, there have been many gatherings, and I’ve always liked Chinese food too~

I’m putting together this fresh post right after visiting DoWonStyle at The Hyundai Seoul, a restaurant I’ve introduced as one I’ve been to many times, because it’s currently running a promotion with up to 30% off.

It’s one of the top-tier Chinese restaurants I truly love.

Of course, I had already posted about it before. DoWonStyle, which originated from DoWon in Plaza Seoul, has many branches.

Personally, I think the taste varies a lot from branch to branch. I haven’t visited every location, but in my opinion, the The Hyundai Seoul branch is so good that it completely outclasses all the others. (That’s why I think this is the main branch? Haha.)

DoWonStyle The Hyundai Seoul Branch

In the post above, I shared a tip for eating cheaply by buying DoWonStyle gift certificates on TMON,

but after the major TMON incident, that kind of trick doesn’t seem to be available... Right now, The Hyundai Seoul is holding the ‘The Hyundai Dining Week’ promotion, which lets you use restaurants for up to 30% less, so I wanted to introduce that as well.

Location: 6th Floor, The Hyundai Seoul, 108 Yeouidaero, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul

Parking: Free parking available.

It is located in the restaurant area on the 6th floor of The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido.

Personally, I was really disappointed with the Seoul Station branch and the Apgujeong branch... I’ll need to try other locations too, but the The Hyundai Seoul branch is definitely one you should visit, and then visit again and again. Even the Apgujeong branch is the main branch....

The Naver rating is 4.57. Very excellent.

For parking, you can use the underground parking at The Hyundai Seoul, but I often use valet parking at the Fairmont Hotel.

There are very few credit cards that offer free valet parking at the Fairmont Hotel. The Shinhan Ace Blue Label and Hyundai Korean Air the First Edition 2 (must be ed 2) seemed to be the two cards with the lowest barriers.

When using Fairmont Hotel valet parking, you must get a stamp from the hotel, so usually I have a cup of café latte in the lounge and chat with my wife before heading home. Haha.

Exterior

If you visit before 8:20 p.m. on Sunday evening, you can still place an order.

We arrived before 8:00, and there were about five groups waiting. Still, after waiting about 10 minutes, we were able to go in relatively quickly!

I like interior design with stone.

What makes an interior feel luxurious, I think, is using unchanging stone and lighting well.

It’s completely my style... I walked in thinking that I’d like to make my dental clinic interior this stylish someday. Haha.

Interior

The interior of DoWonStyle The Hyundai Seoul branch is a place that always feels pleasant to look at.

The ceiling ornaments shaped like fireworks bursting were giving the space a bright, lively atmosphere,

and the large windows far in the distance offer a pretty nice view.

The seat we were assigned was along the wall, and it was quite spacious, looking like it could accommodate up to five people.

The Hyundai Seoul is such a great place to walk around with a stroller, right? Haha.

It was also really nice to keep the stroller next to us while eating.

I have the rights to my daughter’s face, but since I’m shy, I’ll mosaic it for now. Haha.

This is the menu at DoWonStyle The Hyundai Seoul branch.

One unusual thing is that DoWonStyle’s menu differs a bit by branch. So some places serve only the regular menu, while others do not. For example, the truffle steak black noodles are available at the Cheonho branch, the Seoul Station branch, and the The Hyundai Seoul branch, but not at the Apgujeong branch. There, they only have jjajangmyeon..

Personally, I think the prices are a little on the high side.

But... right now there’s a promotion with up to 30% off, so let’s all wisely take advantage of The Hyundai Dining Week.

The Hyundai Dining Week is basically a promotion offering discounts for visits after 5:00 p.m. from 1/23 to 2/2.

You can download and use a coupon from the H-point app, Hyundai Department Store’s app: 10,000 won off (20%) for purchases over 50,000 won, 30,000 won off (30%) for purchases over 100,000 won, and 60,000 won off (30%) for purchases over 200,000 won.

Once I went in, it looked like this~~ It’s easy to find, and they simply scan the barcode after you download it to give you the discount.

We ate about 110,000 won and got a 30,000 won discount, so we received more than 25% off!! Hehe..

As another event during The Hyundai Dining Week, they also offer 10% off whole cakes at the bakery Vesely and the chance to buy some wines at promotional prices. That doesn’t seem like a huge deal... Getting several tens of thousands of won off dinner is the best part.

The menu photos are so nicely taken that I think the menu itself is beautiful, but I only took photos of the dishes I ordered.

First, the Green Papaya Yurinji, which I always order whenever I go,

and the beef tenderloin sweet and sour pork, which I tried for the first time today!!

I don’t usually like beef sweet and sour pork... I was so disappointed after eating the tomahawk pork sweet and sour pork at DoWonStyle Seoul Station branch that I ordered this one today instead. The result was absolutely insanely satisfying..

Lastly, I ordered Yangzhou-style barbecue fried rice as the meal.

Just one dish plus two meals wouldn’t reach 100,000 won... so I had no choice but to add two dishes, and as expected, it was a very satisfying choice.

Let the meal begin!!!

Beef tenderloin sweet and sour pork (52,000 won)

Wow... looking at it again, it was sweet and sour pork that cost over 50,000 won. Honestly, it had better be delicious.

Still, you know that beef sweet and sour pork is a menu you can only find at quite upscale Chinese restaurants, right?

Just by looking at it, the mango and Shine Muscat grapes on top make it look truly luxurious and delicious..

You can see the thick pieces of fried beef.

The sauce is served poured over it, and it seems to be a clear sauce.

This is really, really, really well-fried beef tenderloin sweet and sour pork.

Didn’t I eat this menu recently?

I thought that place was also pretty famous for sweet and sour pork.... It’s a 5-star hotel...

This was beef tenderloin sweet and sour pork that I thought was fried even better than that.

It’s thin, crispy, and full of juices—really, really delicious beef tenderloin sweet and sour pork.

DoWonStyle at The Hyundai Seoul is truly a place that impresses me every time I visit..

Green Papaya Yurinji (43,000 won)

Green Papaya Yurinji is something that impresses me no matter when I eat it.

It feels like fried chicken with pickled radish on top of the chicken~ Haha.

You may not be able to see it clearly, but under the fried chicken there is shredded cabbage and a generous layer of soy sauce.

You dip the fried chicken into that sauce and eat it with the green papaya.

The refreshing coolness of the green papaya blends with the crispy, hot fried chicken, creating something quite delicious.

It’s truly a Green Papaya Yurinji that makes me exclaim every time I eat it.

Yangzhou-style barbecue fried rice (20,000 won)

The last dish is the barbecue fried rice.

The rice was stir-fried so well that it was impressive...

The plating is also very pretty. I think it matches the interior of DoWonStyle at The Hyundai Seoul quite well.

You can tell at a glance that the fried rice is nicely stir-fried and fluffy, with flakes on top adding a crispy texture.

On top are a nicely browned fried egg and minced shrimp.

Because it’s served in a bowl, you should eat it quickly as soon as it comes out to enjoy the perfectly stir-fried rice grains.

It’s not bland fried rice, but fried rice that is seasoned well and tastes delicious.

I think it’s called barbecue fried rice because of the pieces of pork inside. It was savory and delicious.

The egg soup and pickled mustard greens we had with it were also tasty.

We ate really, really deliciously again today!

Conclusion

DoWonStyle at The Hyundai Seoul is

a top-tier Chinese restaurant no matter when you eat there

Actually, today’s destination was not DoWonStyle at The Hyundai Seoul.

I was planning to go to Movie Hall, where they make such delicious sweet... no, sweet-and-tangy sweet and sour pork...

It’s a place we make sure to visit regularly even though it’s far, but they said they closed early because of the holiday.

So I ended up visiting DoWonStyle at The Hyundai Seoul for the first time in a while!

Luckily, since it was ‘The Hyundai Dining Week’ from yesterday until 2/2, we were able to enjoy it at a discounted price of 85,000 won down from 115,000 won, which is a whopping 26% off. The food is excellent, and the price is even better..... I should go once more before 2/2.

Parking: Parking available.

Well, what more is there to say? The food is great, the prices are good, the location is good, and the facilities need no further explanation.
